Rating: 5 stars
Summary: wonderfully written
Review: I absolutely loved this book, so much so that I'm keeping it on my bookshelf. I find that a lot of Christian writing is cheesy, formulaic, predictable and poorly written. But this is a good romance novel! A little too short but its sentimental and warm without being corny. The characters are a bit elderly but their ones that you grow to love even if your a college student in your twenties. I'd reccomend it to anyone.

Summary: good book
Review: I enjoyed this book. It had a sweet message. I thought the plot was realistic. Because I enjoyed this book, I then read Mr. Maki other book: A Choice to Cherish. This book was also good.

Summary: Much too short
Review: The blurb makes this book sound really fantastic, but I was disappointed. I mean, it's only 160 pages. That's really short for a novel. The author really could've created a heart-rending story if only he'd thrown in a few more conflicts, or even fleshed out the ones that were there. As it is, every dilemma is tied up neatly with a bow within the next few pages that follow its introduction. I don't know about you, but I like to agonize for a little bit over "will he or won't he" and I like to slam a book shut in frustration when the main character just doesn't do what a prudent person would do. Character development was a bit thin, too. The Tom character had such potential! If I had to guess, I'd say the author lost interest in this story before it was fully developed.

Summary: WRITTEN ON HER HEART is also written on my heart
Review: This story of a long-lost love is a winner! I loved the poetry, as well as the plot. Also, using a summer wildfire as a backdrop, as it threatens the lead character's home while she tries to restore her life, adds to the suspense. I learned a lot about firefighters and how they battle out-of-control fires.

I thoroughly enjoyed this hardcover novel, as it is a beautiful book with a beautiful package. Even my husband, who doesn't read much, picked it up and loved it. 160 pages was a number he could handle!

The author, Alan Maki, also wrote A CHOICE TO CHERISH, which is absolutely great. He has hit two homeruns with these two novels!

Summary: Great Potential, but Predictable
Review: When I started this novel, I thought I was in for a big emotional ride. James character was awesome. Molly character was to whiney. When Molly's friend Steph comes to visit her, Steph takes Molly out to buy her a book for her birthday. Steph JUST happens to pick out the one and only James Wade poetry book, the author is Molly's long lost love. Isn't this a little TOO much coincidental. Outside the book shop, Molly opens it up and JUST happens to find a poem in it that James wrote to her years prior.
I think the ending was a little out of the obvious as well, James ends up rescueing Molly and himself in a fire. This novel had great potential, however, very predictable. Maki did a great job on James and his feelings, thoughts and reasons for staying hidden after his war injury, this part was very well written. Molly could have been a little more pepped up and detailed than she portrayed in this novel.
