Rating: Summary: "Awaken, My Love" - Lite Review: I really, really liked this book - it's a keeper for me. I thought Elle was a wonderfully realistic character, and who wouldn't fall in love with Henry? There were two scenes where I just laughed out loud, and could barely stop - I always like that in a book!I'm surprised, though, that no one has mentioned the plot similarities to Robin Schone's time travel novel "Awaken, My Love". This book has a lighter spirit, and doesn't have the explicit love scenes (although they're plenty hot!), but touches on several of the same issues. Maybe it's just a case of certain events that *must* be mentioned in a time travel? Regardless, this was a very enjoyable read.
Rating: Summary: I loved it! Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I stayed up all night reading it. It was humerous, entertaining, and historically accurate. I could really relate to the heroine. I look forward to Ms Cach's next novel.
Rating: Summary: A HYSTERICAL ROMANCE Review: I truly appreciated this book. The heroine was practically me. I could dream of entering a world in which my body type (no anorexic here) would be thought of as beautiful and enticing. Elle was remarkably real in a story that was magical and imaginative. Although the combination was more than unusual, Cach pulled it off, melding together elements that should have been at odds with each other. The effect was a superb book that was thoroughly entertaining. There were places where I laughed so hard I cried (I kid you not!). Many of the thoughts and reactions the modern day heroine had in reaction to her 18th century experiences would have been mine, although it all seems far more hilarious happening to her than it would to me. The hero is handsome and dashing and absolutely stole MY heart when his vigorously insisted that Elle would NOT lose weight. Who couldn't love a man like that! Wonderful book! If you love romances, magic, and laughing then this is your next book purchase. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: I felt like I was really there! Review: Lisa Cach's THE CHANGELING BRIDE is the perfect book to curl up with on a cold winter's eve--I read the whole thing in one night! With two keenly built-up lead characters and a hilarious dog for comic relief, I found myself wrapped right into the story. Lisa captures the details of eighteenth-century living to a tee, right down to the chamberpots. And last, I admit, I cried at the end. Well worth the price of admission!
Rating: Summary: Fairy-assisted time travel didn't work for this reader Review: Maybe it's because I had just finished reading TIMELINE by Michael Crichton, but I had trouble buying into the concept of fairy-assisted time travel. I like the idea of modern women finding themselves in some distant past, trying to cope with the necessary changes in lifestyle, and certainly Lisa Cach did a fine job of writing heroine Elle's dilemmas. But the story never really took off for me. I liked the hero, Henry, a lot more than Elle did for most of the book, and while I sympathized with her dilemma, I found her actions and words too often cruel. Mainly, though, I just couldn't get behind the idea of a trip to the past courtesy of a fairy coupon for a free husband.
Rating: Summary: Modern woman finds humorous pitfalls & romance in the past. Review: This book has all of the formula requirements of a time travel romance. What I found refreshing was the heroine's view of the daily life a woman of the English privileged class 200 years ago. ie: A Nineties-kind-of-gal desparately trying to remember the history she hadn't paid too much attention to in school, but is now living in. Getting carsick in a coach rocking and rolling on unpaved roads. Having to use a chamber pot instead of a having a flush toilet and hot running water. Yes, a fairy promise helps her meet Mr. Wonderful, and her life back in the Nineties was ho-hum. But is love and the challenge of the English lifestyle enough for love to conquer all? All of this is done with the light touch of humor which the author uses to have her heroine relay her situation to us.
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: This book is the best book I have read in a long while. It is original & witty with good characters and dialog and so amusing I laughed out loud. What a wonderful new author! I simply can't say enough about this book.

That is what happens to Wilhelmina March. After she had been given a pink coupon by a homeless woman that said"Coupon good for:One Free Husband-Redeem at Will"After reading the coupon she wishes for a husband and finds herself transported back in time about to be married. Rating: Summary: The grass is always greener in another time. Review: This is a story for any modern woman who, after phone bills, rent, and car payments, a bad blind date, and a stultifying week at work in a dead-end job, thought to herself, "Wouldn't it be grand to be a rich young woman in the past, with nothing to do all day but choose dress designs and ring for tea? And perhaps an arranged marriage to a handsome aristocrat would not be such a bad idea, either..." As the heroine of the story finds out, she should be careful what she wishes for. Aristocrats are not always pleasant, and dresses with stays rank far below sweats for comfort. Of course, there's always the tea, if you're still in the mood to drink it.
Rating: Summary: One of the funnyest books I have ever read. Review: This is my 1st book by Lisa I have read & I have never laughed so much in my life. Being from the 20th century, Elle is trying to find her way around the late 18th century & doesn't understand their customs. The scene in the dinning room had me howling with laughter. Elle walked into the dining room & found one of her guests peeing into a chamber pot next to where she eats her dinner. Lawrence, the poor man was mortified when she lamblasted him in front of her husband & other guest about his & other mens habits. She does apologise to him though the next morning. When she finds out he is an engineer she has him design a flushing toilet & shower. Her husband thinks she is having an affair with Lawrence when he overhears them arranging to meet in secret in her dressing room. Believe me you will love this book, it has everything, fairy magic, passionate love scenes & laughter. Thank you Lisa for this story, it definately brightened up my day & still makes me laugh when I think about it.
