Summary: It Could Have Been Better
Review: The good part. Very juicy, realistic sex scenes, and some fun dialogue along the way. I give kudos to the writer for even being able to get something like this published, since apparently there aren't any Black women who have Sex in the City...

On the other hand, as far as the plots were concerned, I feel the writer could have taken another few seasons to flesh out the character development. It made it seem like the women were pretty canvases, with no heart, backbone, morals or personality. However, the book is very fast-paced and racy, and if that is what you are looking for, then buy this book.

Summary: Its Alright, More Like 3.5 Stars
Review: This book is interesting and gave me a laugh at some points, but I expected the characters to have more sense and depth. They are all professional, worldly, independent women with college degrees, but they still end up either messing with losers or ruining their good relationships. Some of these women seemed completely clueless and all of them were confused. Still, the book is well put together (I like the year follow-up of the sisters) and is a quick read (I read it in three days). If you are a prude, this book is not for you. The sex scenes are indeed explicit (I thought this was a good thing but others may not feel the same). I recommend buying it used to save some of your money.

Summary: Hot under the collar!
Review: This book was a quick and juicy read!

I must admit, I don't know any women as shallow as the one's depicted in this novel, but that's why it's called fiction. At the same time I'm sure that the personalities of Waceera and Kenya exist. The stories were entertaining and the sex was lively.

I would highly recommend this book. It's an easy read and good while vacationing under the sun.

Summary: The truth Be told!
Review: This book was really good. It had my emotions going up and down! I consider myself an educated black woman, and I can't say I'm like the girls in the book, but I see how they made their mistakes. They are very young and have too much success for their age! They can't handle all the attention from men, their jobs, etc. I understand the pressure. The pressure to have everything. I have made some dumb mistakes in my twenties and saw the book as a trip down memory lane. It was fun, funny, and lots of sex!! LOL.

Summary: Too Hot!
Review: This book was wicked! The sex scenes were so detailed, and raw. The stories were told with a lighthearted, funny touch. At the end, I loved the Epilogue. Often when I read novels, it doesn't give you a look into the future. I loved the "One Year Later" approach and seeing what the girls were up to now. I had to hide it from my ten year old daughter....LOL. I laughed, got upset and shook my head at the characters. Each story was a new experience. To the writer: More, please!

Summary: ok
Review: This is a collection of stories about five women trying to find love. I think all the stories could have been written without being so explicit, and nasty, all the women were easy, and desperate. I ordered the book thinking it was a novel.

Summary: Goood Book
Review: This is a great read. Definitely two thumbs up. The only thing I didn't like about it was the very un-needed "A Year Later" portion at the end revealing an outcome to the girls lives. I kind of like how the stories didn't end "happily ever after" (so similar to real life situations). For that reason, MaryAnn could have done without the eplilogue and the book would have still been wonderful.

Summary: Leaves much to be desired!
Review: While it wasn't a complete waste of time, I am glad that I checked this book out from my local library. It really fell short of my expectations. The biggest problem is that it lacked depth. I'm not a writer but I can definitely tell that Maryann Reid could have developed her characters more. (Perhaps it would have been better if she focused on fewer characters). I understand that this book is a light read but it lacked too much. Furthermore, the ending seemed rushed.
