Summary: Great book!
Review: Mariah Temple was a young woman living in a nightmare. Fathered by a tyrannical man who is also an Indian hater, she is forced to act and dress like a young lad, for fear that too many boys will be attracted to her beauty. At her wits end Mariah doesn't know what to do until her eyes lock with Echohawk.

Moving his village to a new, peaceful location, the weight of the destruction falls heavily upon his shoulders. Echohawk is torn by listening to his father's please for peace while his heart is being eaten away with hatred for the white men who enforces harm about his people. He trusts few white people and Mariah isn't one of them.

Thrown together by chance and torn apart by hidden truths Mariah and Echohawk have a bumpy road to face. Echohawk falls deeply in love with Mariah's determination and grit and she too falls hard for the future Chief of his people. You can feel the power between these too and there are surprises right up to the end! I thought it was a great book with great supporting characters. A great start to the series. I hope the rest are just as well written!
