Rating: Summary: This was a fun book to read - I like her newer books better Review: I really thought this was a good book, but I liked pillow talk and Dear love Doctor better.
Rating: Summary: A "Charming" contemporary romance Review: Professionally, in under six months time, tax attorney Penelope Sue Fields has become one of New Orleans' top experts. On the romantic front, the prim and proper Penelope cannot get into the game, let alone take a swing at bat. Her only date is fellow attorney David Henson, who is so exciting Penelope has invented a lover, Raoul. Undercover police officer Tony Olano is investigating David, who has ties with the local mob. David has observed Penelope go out with David, making her a suspect in his case, but cannot understand why she keeps visiting a voodoo shop and why he seems so attracted to what is obviously a prude. Penelope is also stunned by her reaction to his BEDROOM EYES after a "chance" meeting on an elevator. Then there is the voodoo store owner, Ms. Merlin. She wants to spur the cause of love between these two lonely people, but is more apt to blunder her spells. Can even love survive a police undercover operation that places the pair on opposite sides of the case while overcoming the meddling fumbles of a good samaritan? BEDOOM EYES is a fun to read paranormal romance that dexterously combines bits of humor and magic with a passionate love story. The lead protagonists are well-developed, especially Penelope, who struggles to find more to her life. Ms. Merlin is a doll of a support player, whose spells add much fun to summer reading. Hopefully, Hailey North will return with more stories of love propelled (loosely speaking) by the meddlesome Ms. Merlin. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: A Pretty Mixed Bag Review: This is Hailey North's first book, if I'm not mistaken, but it's not too bad. The premise holds so much promise - a wacky lawyer who has a fantasy lover and a bad boy cop trailing her. I bought this book hoping for a wonderful read. However, the pace begins to plod after a while because the story moves in some many directions from supernatural elements to suspense. These aspects didn't really gel and distracts me from the pleasure of the story.
Rating: Summary: Below the promised expextations! Review: Though I was seduced by the synopsis provided at the back cover of the book. As I proceeded, my expectation started fading and ultimately I lost the interest in the book. However, I went upto last page of the book. Main character Penlope can be said as well treated yet a lots of narration did not attracted at all.
