Rating: Summary: Too much fun! Review: An irresistible romp, reading this is like eating a box of Godiva chocolate truffles in one sitting. You may feel a bit guilty afterwards! Our heroine is a lust-filled married woman with a cold, cold husband. Poor dear, she turns to the muscular and handsome gardener (yes, the gardener) who tends the plants at her office. Shades of Lady Chatterley! There are plenty of "naughty bits" though nothing outright pornographic. The protagonist is a therapist but seems to have her own anger control issues. Almost every discussion with her husband ends with her throwing something.... Not that we blame her: As the story goes on, the husband turns out to be a dirty rotten cheating scoundrel. On top of that, there are office politics, scandals and rivalries. Everything is over the top and not very believable, but fun. Oh, and beware -- the ending is a cliff-hanger, so you feel compelled to get the next book in the series.
Rating: Summary: I LOVED IT! Review: I absolutely loved this book. So much, in fact that I bought the others (The Breakup, and Happily Ever After) and read them all in one weekend! I can't wait until the next one comes out!
Rating: Summary: This is a MUST Review: I am normally not a book worm at all matter of fact in the past 10 years I have maybe read 5 books but when I looked at this one I had to get it and so glad I did. This book kept me on it i couldnt lay it down to even get a drink :-) It is awesome! A must for women that ever dreamed about having an extramarital affair!
Rating: Summary: It's Worth Reading! Review: I found this book while browsing a bookstore. I've never read this series on the Redbook Magazine website before. I thought I would give this book a try. Once I started to read it, I was hooked. I spent every free moment reading this book. I couldn't put it down. Valerie's entries are wild! She writes about her experiences and thoughts about her family, work, and friends. I can't wait to read the next book in the trilogy! I recommend reading this book! It's very entertaining! You'll enjoy it!
Rating: Summary: mindless and fun entertainment Review: I picked up this book at a bookstore, not knowing anything about the author or the web site. I wasn't sure I would enjoy this book, but once I got into it, I started to have fun. Like reading a Jackie Collins novel, this book manages to entertain. Don't read it if you want to learn anything. Just read it for fun. It tells the story of this therapist and the entries she keeps in her diary. From trying to keep her marriage together, to being attracted to other men. From losing weight to gaining weight, job problems, children problems. It covers it all. A fun and entertaining book! I am certainly looking forward to the next installments. This book would also certainly qualify as a great summer read!
Rating: Summary: Comfortable writing Review: I picked up this book knowing nothing about the story, or Redbook's web site or anything, but the writing style and flow really intrigued me. It's a nice casual style, like getting an email from an old friend. There's some laugh out loud funny bits, and some brutal truths. But like one other review said, it veered off into the unbelievable once in a while. I believed everything with Eddie, but once he was gone, it felt like the book lost track, it wasn't sure where to go. That said, I'll pick up the sequel. The first half of the book is still great for the enjoyment it gave me. It's mind candy, but it's a homey kind.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put It Down !!! Review: No, this book will not provide you with the meaning of life, but if you are looking for a light, easy read, this one is definately a page-turner. I couldn't put it down!!! The main character did not always make the best moral decisions, and even became a bit unrealistic at times, but it's part of her intrigue. I can not wait to see what happens to her next!! Give it a try!
Rating: Summary: Something is wrong here Review: Ok, I read to page 30. It was delicious with sexual tension. It made me squirm and twist and grin and laugh and perspire and the anxiety was wonderful...then some bad things happened. First, nobody, I mean NOBODY looks for a "pay phone" (hello!) these days to make a phone call! Come on! Editors gone to sleep? Then, it gets worse, this psychotherapist/heroine, somebody we are supposed to care about, skips out on her afternoon session with a 14 year old girl client who had innocently caused the divorce of her parents (because of her rotten Dad and his affair) and is cutting herself and feeling suicidal. Why does our heroine skip out of the client appointment at the last minute? Because she wants to meet Eddie for a beer and lunch. Sure, it's delicious for them to meet, and sexy and full of arousal and tension because both of them know something is going to happen at some point very soon and they will cross the line, but there is NO WAY a sane and responsible person could ever think of themselves over the emotional state of a 14 year old girl! Never happen. Ok, it may happen, but it's nobody I want to climb into their skin with as they ride out this wonderful sexually heightened experience. So, I am not sure if I can continue to read this...I have put it down. 'Til next time.
Rating: Summary: Smoldering! Review: The cover got my attention and the first few pages got me hooked. For anyone that has ever been married and has experienced that "rut" this will hit home (well, at little exaggerted). Valerie is our heroine who is stuck with a husband who no longer pays any attention to her, only their child. After many attempts to bring the sparks back, her eyes are drawn towards Eddie, the plant guy at the office. This just starts a series of problems in Valerie's life that never seem to improve, only get worse. Her relationships with both men seem to twist and turn, one cold and the other, very, very hot. This is fast reading! I kept telling myself one more page but then couldn't wait till the next. Can't wait for the next sequel to arrive in August!
Rating: Summary: I am "V"! Review: The Diary of V series is wonderful! I felt like I could have substituted "V" for "J" and the story was about me. Her feelings and reactions to her husband, her love of men finding her attractive, her "crushes", and her friendships with the women of the story rang so true for me. I just really related to the main character of this book. If you want to read the hilarious tale of a woman going through an affair, a cheating husband, raising a young son, and getting fat on top of that then this is the book for you. You can relate to V and watch her come out victorious and overcome the hurdles in her life. It will make you feel her pain and cheer for her when she succeeds. Great read!
