Rating: Summary: Great third novel in a wonderful historical romance series Review: By 1850, Colin and Decker Thorne are still rejoice the fact of their finding one another after a long separation and marrying the women they love. However, the two siblings feel that life would be perfect if they can only reunite with their third brother, who apparently was recently using the identity of Graham Denison. Desperate for help, the Thorne brothers turn to Boston clairvoyant Berkley Shaw, who touches an earring that Graham once possessed. Before fainting, Berkley claims that Graham is both dead and living in San Francisco. The Thorne siblings decide to fund Berkley's trip to California to find their lost brother. In San Francisco, Grey Janeway rescues Berkley from several thugs at the docks. Grey finds himself immediately attracted to her and hires Berkley to be his hostess at his gambling establishment. She believes he is the missing sibling. However, as she tries to uncover his identity, the duo falls in love with one another. However, a lasting relationship seems remote since they both have secrets and the Thorne brothers' quest embroils them in a dangerous situation. WITH ALL MY HEART, the third novel in Jo Goodman's "Thorne" series is like its two predecessors (see MY STEADFAST HEART and MY RECKLESS HEART) a warm, wonderful, and witty historical romance. The story line is filled with action and excitement that make mid-nineteenth century San Francisco seems so alive. The characters are brilliantly developed to include Berkley's special talent. The return of protagonists from the first two novels augments the tale. This trilogy is must reading by sub-genre fans. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: Charming Review: i generally make it a point to avoid reading trilogy's or a host of romances involving the whole family, but i liked this book particularly coz firstly they had a good old fashioned romance not a love-hate thing like most books it was just a nice book that leaves a smile on your face i thought it was just precious, the Grey and Berkely were well brought out and i have to say i like a little of the supernatural such as berkely's second sight it added a good dimension in the book. good buy.
Rating: Summary: Not as good as the other two in the trilogy Review: I had been waiting patiently (sometimes unpatiently) for the third book of this trilogy. I absolutly loved My Steadfast Heart and My Reckless Heart, but this one just wasn't as good. I didn't like Berkey and Grey like I ABSOLUTLY LOVED Colin and Mercedes and LOVED Decker and Jonna almost as much. The book didn't have much depth and a few times I didn't understand where the story was going. Although, if you are a fan of this series, it is a MUST READ!
Rating: Summary: On My Keeper List! Review: I have been waiting for this book to come out...It was worth the wait...I loved the whole trilogy...I am sure I will read "With All My Heart" again and agian, just as I have with "My Steadfast Heart" and "My Reckless Heart"
Rating: Summary: love those brothers Review: I just finished reading the Thorne Brother Trilogy. With All My Heart is Grey's story. Colin and Decker Thorne hire Berkeley Shaw, who has the 2nd sight, to locate Graham Dennison who disappeared 5 years ago. He was the last known person in possesion of a family heirloom that was given to Greydon Thorne when he was adopted as an infant. Berkeley heads to San Francisco and meets up with Grey Janeway, owner of the hotel and gambling hall, The Phoenix. Is he the missing Graham Dennison? Read the story and find out. I will be glomming Jo Goodman's back list, and eagerly awaiting her next story, that is out this Spring.
Rating: Summary: Definitely not the best of this wonderful trilogy. Review: I loved Steadfast Heart and Reckless Heart and searched for this book as the grand finale. I was pretty disappointed. I liked Graham and Berkely but the story line wasn't that great. I would have liked more than the last chapter devoted to the reunion and interaction of these 3 brothers. With all my Heart had so much potential but it just didn't quite get there. I love Jo Goodman's books and her men are wonderful!! Perhaps I expected too much.
Rating: Summary: Worth the wait! Review: I was so excited to see that this book was finally here! Grey was just as obstinate and headstrong as I knew Colin and Decker's brother would have to be. Berkely was so real. I love this series.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Conclusion! Review: Jo Goodman's grand finale to her Thorne brothers trilogy is satisfying in all regards. It's satisfying as a romance, as a mystery, and as a long-awaited reunion between all three brothers. Jo's characters are complex and rich, mature and intelligent. This is a thinking woman's romance, and if you're looking for a change of pace from the lighter, fun romances, give these books a try. Each heroine is a match for her hero, and I just love the intelligence of these books. Enjoy, enjoy!
Rating: Summary: A fun read if you can get through the first 2 chapters Review: This is my first read of Jo Goodman. I selected With All My Heart because San Francisco is one of my favorite cities. The first two chapters were slow, but once you get past the build-up and the necessary scene setting it's a great book. I haven't read the others in the series, but it didn't matter. Ms. Goodman weaves enough of the details into her story that the reader isn't left scratching her head wondering who these people are. The romance is touching, the characters well developed and the plot is full of twists and turns so you have no idea what's going to happen next. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys the city or a good romance.
Rating: Summary: GREAT ENDING TO A GREAT STORY Review: WITH ALL MY HEART WAS WORTH THE WAIT.I CAN'T THINK OF A BETTER WAY TO UNITE THE THREE THORNE BROTHERS THAN IN SAN FRANSISCO IN 1851,WHERE ALMOST ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN SAN FRANSISCO ARE STARTING THEIR LIVES OVER AGAIN. WITH GREY'S MEMORY LOSS, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR COLIN AND DECKER TO FIND HIM. BUT,SENDING BERKELY AND HER HUSBAND TO FIND GREY WAS ALMOST A LITTLE TOO MUCH TO BELIEVE UNTIL BERKELY'S TRUE POWERS COME TO BE TRUE WHEN SHE EXPERIENCES IVORY'S RAPE WHILE WEARING HER DRESS. I REALLY GOT INTO THE STORY THEN AND COULDN'T PUT THE BOOK DOWN. I WAS SO HAPPY FOR COLIN TO FINALLY FIND BOTH OF HIS BROTHERS. MS. GOODMAN--GOOD JOB.
