Rating: Summary: Fantastic! Made a BELIEVE - R out of me! Review: Far and away the BEST time travel I've ever read - better than A Knight in Shining Armour, and with a much better ending! I'll never look at Merlin the same way again! Wonderful characters, witty dialogue, great interplay between the hero and heroine, strong secondary characters, a fast moving plot - everything I look for in a good read. If you haven't read this one yet...what are you waiting for? You won't be disappointed! I can't wait to read the rest of her books!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic - This book could not have been better Review: I absolutely loved this book. I had to stay up half the night finishing it. The stroy just flowed from one chapter to the next. In fact, I hardly noticed that it was 1:30 a.m. when I finished it. Tessa is such a strong female character and sure gives Galahad a run for his money about his Middle Ages beliefs. You could not ask for a better book to curl up with in front of the fire on a cold winter or rainy night. A truely wonderful book. A must read!
Rating: Summary: A GOOD BOOK Review: I enjoyed reading this book, and would suggest it to others looking for a good romantic novel . . .If you want to read a book that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift! This book was edited by Lupus specialist Dr. Matt Morrow too, and has the latest information on that disease. ..A perfect gift for someone who started college late in life, fell in love too late in life, is living with any illness, or trying to understand a loved one who is. . .A gift to be cherished forever
Rating: Summary: Witty dialogue, wonderful characters, fantastic storytelling Review: I had never read a book from Victoria Alexander before, but after this one, I will definately be heading to my local library to find more! Her writing style is one that I've always enjoyed from some of my favorite authors, mainly because the heroine has a razor-sharp intelligence. The witty dialogue between Tessa and all the characters in the book were laugh-out loud funny, and I especially loved her affectionate "pet name" for Galahad -- Big Guy. Being only 5'3" myself, I really love tall guys, and Sir Galahad, like he was supposed to, stole my heart. If you love the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, along with the "Wizard Extraordinaire and Counselor to Kings" Merlin, then this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: Superficial heroine Review: I have to admit that I did not complete Believe. I gave up after the first half of the book. The heroine is superficial and the dialogue that she has with Merlin and Galahad is unrealistic and lacks any real depth. The concept of the story (about a woman who is transported back into the mythical land of Camelot) has merit but the author could have created characters with more depth and more realistic characterizations.
Rating: Summary: An intriguing new look at King Authur's court Review: I love time travels and Victoria's new one was a fun trip back to the Camelot of legends. Her slant on the 'real' stories and people were interesting. Her heroine Tessa St.James is irreverent and self-assured except in love, Galahad is honorable and confident and knows in his heart that he has already had his chance at love. Together, their search for the infamous and elusive Holy Grail shows them both the power and magic of love! I really enjoyed this quick-paced, emotional love story in which two halves become whole again.
Rating: Summary: Camelot and Love + Time Travel = Great Book Review: I love Victoria Alexander books especially this one! What happens when you have a modern time girl travel back in time to Camelot? A great story. Filled with lots of laughs and tears this book will keep you turing the pages. Oh and look out for Merlin.....he really is a crafty little guy!
