Summary: Very worthwhile read!!!
Review: I must admit, I read the sequence of books backward. I read Lord of the Desert 1st, then the book with Briana, now this. I love to read, and when a writer can move me to laugh, sigh, cry, and grin in one book, that writer has skills!

Diana Palmer's writing is exquisite, and pulls at your emotions like two of my other favourite authors - Nora Roberts & Julie Garwood. This book, Soldier of Fortune, inspired me to come online and review it - which doesn't happen very often.

The characters in the book seem so life-like, yet still hold some fairy-tale mystic about them. What red-blooded female hasn't wished for a handsome, thrilling, charmer like J.D. in her life at one time or another? Or the anti-social Dutch. The fact that Gabby could handle almost any situation with flair was inspiring. I only hope when I met the one for me, our meeting is half as explosive as this.

I throughly reccomend anyone buy this book, especially if you're a thrill-seeking romantic like myself...

Summary: The start of something very special
Review: This is the book that started it all! J.D., aka Archer, and Gabby's story was the first Diana Palmer I ever read and it hooked me for life. There is action, drama, sweet romance. Palmer uses the tried but true storyline of the secretary and her boss and adds a new twist. Gabby knows an awful lot about mercenaries from the reading she does but that does not prepare her for the fact that her lawyer boss has a deep past as one! When J.D.'s sister is kidnapped he goes all out to get her back. Gabby is drawn along as a cover but the sparks fly as they travel to Rome and then to Central America. J.D. calls upon his old team to help plan the rescue. Action soars across the pages, bullets fly, passion hits when least expected. Follow J.D. and Gabby on their adventure and then read the teams' stories! All in all this was the start of a beautiful series. Soldier of Fortune is fast paced, has great detail, and very good dialogue. Needless to say if I had four thumbs I would give it four thumbs up but I guess I can make do with four stars.
