Rating: Summary: Better than Ever! Review: I loved this book. Although somewhat short, the book has an interesting plot. I fell in love with both Dakota and Darvi immediately. He was not too hot-headed or too weak. She was not too outspoken or too meek. I really liked the protectiveness that Dakota felt over Darvi, but was not too cocky about it. I liked the way neither were interested in each other early on in the book and then their love just developed out of their friendship. I was disappointed that their courtship did not get more attention, but overall, I loved the book!
Rating: Summary: One great book Review: I think that this is by far one of Lori Wick's greatest books. I love the way that she is able to write a romance and yet still center it around God. The Yellow Rose Trilogy is certainly a must read for anyone who enjoys Christian Romances.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I think this was a great book! When I read some of the other reviews about this book I was in total disbelief of what people were saying. The fact that I thought Lori Wick did an excellent job on this book may have something to do with the fact that this is the first series I've read by her. So some of her other books might be better I guess I'll have to read and find out. Anyway I thought she did a wonderful job on this book and I would suggest that you read it.
Rating: Summary: Lori Wick is a great author Review: I thought this book was very interesting. It kept me on my toes and I thought that Lori Wick did an excellent job on this book, as she does on all of her books.
Rating: Summary: Not as great as I thought. Review: I, for one, am disapointed in Lori Wick's newest book. It was too wordy and the plot was way out of focus. It was nice to now that Slater and Liberty were doing good. But to have Dakota not being as spontanious as in the first book kind of sparks the character out of him. This book was dull, and slow pacing. I would recomend reading her Kensington Chronicles instead of reading this book. Maybe on her third book she'll do so much better.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: Lori has done it again! As can be expected, she produced an awesome book about trusting God and finding love.
Rating: Summary: Bound to be a winner! Review: Lori Wick never ceases to amaze me! Her plots are intriguing; her characteres realistic, loveable, and everyone of them unique. I'm looking forward to reacquainting old friends from 'Every Litte Thing About You' and meeting some new ones, in 'Texas Sky', the second book in the Yellow Rose Trilogy.
Rating: Summary: Texas Sky--Gray and Dreary Review: Texas Sky has only one good point--it lets us know what happens to some of the characters introduced in the first book of the series. Aside from that, the story is dull and disconnected. The plot wanders from scenario to scenario, failing to tie them together into a cohesive whole. It reads like the author couldn't decide what would happen & so inserted plot changes as they occurred to her. Also, the Christian content is contrived, serving to "preach" rather than to advance the story or unveil the inner workings of the characters. The novel is weak in every area of literary merit--characters are flat, plot is weak, symbolism is non-existent, language is uninspired. In other words, when you read this novel, don't expect anything more than a mildly enjoyable visit with surface acquaintances.
Rating: Summary: A Texas Sky Review: This book was all right. It wasn't her best though. Towards the end, Lori Wick was constantly letting us know about how strong Dakota was. How safe he made everyone feel. We get the point after a couple of times. I didn't think that Darvi deserved Dakota. Dakota deserved better. Darvi seemed so childish. I realize she's been through a lot, but then again, she is a woman. She pointed that out to her uncle in the beginning. I thought it was silly that in the beginning Dakota says that Darvi was cute, but not pretty. Then in the middle of the book and so forth, it seemed as if on every other page another guy was following after Darvi. Men want to talk to her constantly. I mean, come one, what's going on? That just doesn't make sense at all. In my opion, kind of lame. I actully liked Elliot and Seth. I think that it was sweet that Seth liked her so much. I don't agree with him about locking her up, but he seemed like a really nice guy. I was actully hoping she would like him in return. I felt soooooo bad for him. It wasn't believable that he kept after her even when she pushed him away time and time again. I don't think that anyone has that much persistent, patience, and love than God. Cassy was an okay character. It was unrealistic that she kept on taking everything Darvi said to heart. I think some people do believe everything, but the way Cassy was wrote, she didn't seem at all believable. At first, I actully thought that Elliot and Cassy had children together. It wasn't until later that I realized that she was married before. Overall, 'City Girl' was better. This book is worth a read, but not a keeper. Sorry Lori Wick. I love a lot of your other books. But this one just wasn't the best.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable! Review: This book was entertaining but I did not enjoy it as much as I did the first book in this series. I don't think it is possible for Lori Wick to write a bad book. All of her books are so good. She appears to be as much of a hopeless romantic as I am. I look forward to all of her future books.
