Summary: Not a page turner!
Review: After a long wait, I finally was able to purchase and read the second book in the trilogy. I was somewhat disappointed. I read the reviews here and noticed one reviewed it and had not even read the book yet. Well, I read it and can say that it is very choppy and wordy. Not Wick's normal standards. I didn't see any romance or even care if Darvi and Dakota got together. I would love to see the passion and romance that were in the Kensington Chronicles and her other series. I fell asleep each night trying to reading it, but since it is part of the series I'll wait another year for the third book. I was really disappointed to not have any new news on Slater and Liberty. I guess the next one is about Cash, hopefully Lori will be back on track.

Summary: Not At all Disapointed!
Review: Being the second book in a series, I loved it (not to mention the first)! I love Dakota and Darvi! Darvi has so much pluck and spunk I have to wish she were real! Dakota is an exteremly charming gentlemen, who gains interest without knowing! Same goes for Darvi! My only disapointment is...it's fiction and I'm not in Darvi's place! [:oP

Summary: Trouble just seems to follow Darvi . . . .
Review: But Dakota is always there to get her out of it.
Darvi is eager to see her old friend, Merry, to tell of her new found faith in Christ. Dakota, a Texas Ranger, agrees to see her out to her friends home and then to the train station.
On the way to the train they encounter many obstacles but the biggest is when Darvi is mistaken for a newspaper reporter and is abducted. Even after her abductors realize their mistake, one of them, Seth, decides to keep her and marry her.
I thought this was an excellent book. With Dakota and Darvi both struggling to understand their new faith, they seemed like real people. I definitely would recommend this book, especially if you are a Lori Wick fan.

Summary: Enjoyable Reading!
Review: I am a big fan of Mrs. Wick's and was hesitant to purchase this item after reading several negative reviews on Amazon. However, once I began to read the book it was great! She writes this series similarily to "The Long Road Home" where each book focuses on a different member of the same family - an intriguing angle of writing. This book centred on the spiritual growth of the main characters and the struggles both experienced when trying to witness to their unsaved parents - an applicable lesson in life today. The story develops the characters well, portraying Darvi to be adventure-prone for no apparant reason, and Dakota struggling to become the man God wants him to be while resisting his old way of responding to circumstances. This is another fine work of fiction by Mrs. Wick and I look forward to reading the third book in the series. Enjoy!

Summary: Texas Sky was not the five stars I expected
Review: I love Lori Wick books. Pretense is my favorite but all her characters are unique and wonderful. Every Little Think about You was a little different then all her other books but at least the relationship between Slater and Liberty was suspenseful. Darvi and Dakota were boring to me and I would have liked to see more interaction, more of a connection. Still, Lori Wick is by far my favorite author.

Summary: Somewhat Disappointed
Review: I love Lori Wick. Her books were the first Christian romances I read. In fact "Every Little Think About You" was the first Christian romance I read. Her Rock Mountain series sealed my love for her books. However, I was somewhat disappointed in "A Texas Sky". Dakota's character seemed to miss the same spunk it had in the first book and Darvi's character was not as rounded as some of the other characters in other Lori Wick books. The book, I thought, was to be about how Dakota and Darvi came together, but only the last part of the book was dedicated to that. And I hated the ending, it just ended. I am looking forward to the third book but with hopes there will be more story to it. More to the capabilities I have come to love about a Lori Wick novel.

Summary: Excellent book and One of my favorite series!
Review: I loved this book and the first book in the series, Every Little Thing About You. I have read many of Lori Wick's books and thought this one was every bit as good as the others I've read. I originally checked this book out from the library and read it. After reading it, I decided to purchase this whole series so that I can read it again whenever I want. I was quite surprised to read some of the negative reviews that are listed for this series. I guess it's just a matter of taste...lol

Summary: a great mystery and romance too
Review: I loved this book as well as the first one, Every Little
Thing about you. Because of the mystery involved in this story it does take some time to get going. The first half of the book, I did wonder where it was going but was glad I kept reading. I loved to read about Dakota and Darvi and their new found faith in Christ. It made me realize I need to be more excited about my own faith. I loved how the romance came on them both before they realized it. I love the characters of Slater, Dakota and Cash. Three gentlemen who know how to treat a lady. Where is that type of guy today? The mystery element also gives some unexpected twists to the plot and that kept me reading as well. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes romance and mystery.
