Summary: This was such a wonderful read!!
Review: I loved this book! This is the second Kathleen Kane book that I have read. The humor and 1998 slang she throws into the 1800's is a riot! Nora is such a spitfire! I had to call my book store and order two more of her books. If you like time-travel romance with a lot of humor, you would love this book. I would have to say it's a MUST READ!

Summary: The west and reincarnation at its best!
Review: Nobody does the American west like Kathleen Kane! This Time for Keeps is witty, funny and intriguing. The heroine making demands to the minions of God is a riot. Flawlessly written, Kane had deleivered a great read every time and is in a class by herself . Highly recommended!

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: This book is one of the best I've read this year. Well written and fast paced. Once I started, I could not put it down. Nine past lives and the heroine remembers them all! What a plot. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: A MUST READ
Review: This book made me laugh out loud. I haven't enjoyed a book this much in quite some time. I'm not even a romance or time travel reader for the most part but I absolutely loved this book. I recommend it to all of my customers no matter what type of reader they are. It's a light and fun read. I own a small used bookstore and when I am out of stock on this title, I have a copy of my own that I loan out to customers. I don't want them to miss out on it. It's a great read!

Summary: great book
Review: This book was absolutely wonderful.

Tracy Hill dies- she doesn't want to be reincarnated, so she makes a deal with the resettlement commitee- the three men at the entrance to heaven and to reincarnation- to go back to earth as someone else at the same age as she was when she just died. Also she insisted on being healthy and not finding love.

They agreed.

They didn't mention when they were sending her: The late 1800's.

In this incarnation- as Nora in the late 1800's:
even though she remembers all her lives she feels as though she's the person she remembers most which is Tracy Hill( the person she was most recently), who's from the next century!
everyone thinks she's a woman named Nora (she is in her body), so she just changes her name to Nora. Afterall she remembers every name she ever had and now that she's in a different body, a different name goes with it.

In the time she lives in as Nora during the course of the book. She meets Seth and Richard- both like her. But even though she might like one of them- she doesn't want to because every time she has fallen in love she died.

The fact that the other Nora was very different- for one thing she was very weak and frail- this Nora's not- it was one of the conditions she made with the Ressettlement Committee (the three men from heaven who gave her another life to live)- that she be
healthy. It's really funny the way the other characters react to Nora acting so strange.

In the book Nora remembers past lives and how she died in each of them- this ways one of the most interesting aspects to the book- in each life she kept dying in the most unusual ways like:
the time she was on the Titanic and fell into a barrel of beer and drowned in it- the day before the Titanic sank.
she's on a wagon train heading west. She decides to walk behind a wagon, then it hits a bump in the road, a stove falls out, hits her in the head and kills her!
and others as well....

It was a really good book. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Reincarnation in the Wild West
Review: THIS TIME FOR KEEPS didn't impress me. I thought it had a lot of potential; unfortunately, the author didn't go the distance. The plot of the story is intriguing: the heroine, Tracy, has lived 8 lives, each one ended quite abruptly due to love. Now Tracy is given one more chance to live a long and fulfilling life on earth. However, that means not falling in love. Unfortunately, she's sent back to live on a ranch in 1800s Montana, and the ranch foreman is a hunk of a cowboy who Tracy can't resist. While Tracy has 8 former lives that she remembers (including being a modern-day ad executive, a maid from medieval England, and an Irish passenger on the Titanic), she barely if ever uses her past experiences or memories (other than from the 1990s). That's disappointing, considering this is a story about reincarnation (and what prompted me to purchase it). What's more disappointing, however, is Tracy's attitude when she wakes up to her new life in Montana. Some readers might enjoy her sarcasm and bossiness; I, however, found her irritating and tiresome. She was neither ideal nor endearing a heroine to me. I actually had a difficult time trying to determine what Seth (the hero) or Richard (the anti-hero) saw in her to love. Both Seth and Richard were interesting characters. I wouldn't have minded seeing more "showdowns" between them. The resolution with Richard stumped me, though. I read it over 3 or 4 times, and still didn't quite believe that it was so ... anticlimactic. Also, it was never explained why she went backwards in time to Montana, which was so pivotal and vital to the plotline. That's not a good ending, in my opinion.

Summary: 9 Lives
Review: Tracy Hill has travelled through the centuries and has lived eight lives. Her last life was ended abruptly in 1998 by a freak bowling accident. In Heaven the "Resettlement Committee" has decreed that she must return to Earth to finish her "time" there. This time Tracy has stated that she will only return on her terms. She wants to be the same age 27, female, wealthy, healthy and does not want "love" this time around as it has been the cause of all her previous deaths. Most of her wishes are granted and she returns to live the remainder of her life. The only problem is she didn't specify a time and wakes up in the guise of Nora Wilding, the owner of a cattle ranch in Montana in 1875. She further discovers that she is engaged to be married to one Richard Bonner but that she is wildly attracted to her foreman, Seth Murdoch, "a young Clint Eastwood, minus the charm."

Kathleen Kane writes historical romances set in America's wild west at the end of the 1800s, with a paranormal twist. If you like rugged cowboys with dark hair and blues eyes and if you like your heroines with lots of guts and a sharp tongue, you will enjoy reading her books. Nora's character was fun, as we could see the wild west through her modern eyes and Seth made a gallant hero. The sub plot kept ticking along, although you will have worked out the scam at the beginning of the book. An enjoyable read on the whole.

Summary: sweet book
Review: Well I have to admit what drew me to this book in the first place. The fact that our heroine has had 8 lives and that the last just ended. The cause, a bowling ball. Now I don't normally think of a bowling ball as a deadly weapon but after I read this book I certainly kept my eye on the next person to bowl. Anyway this story is a combo Time-Travel/Reincartion romance. Tracy, the heroine has lived 8 lives and been killed horribly in every one of them. She is now given a 9th chance but she's now been thrown back in time to 1875. Now Tracy has had it. She is very aware of her past lives and how they ended. She is ticked and demands that in her next life she have health, wealth and absolutely no chance for love. Love being the cause of all of her past death's. The "Resettlement Committee" in heaven agrees and they place her in the body of a woman in 1875 Montana. Now she has to deal with the fact that she a modern woman is now not allowed to many things just because she is a woman and also deal with the very attractive Seth Murdoch.

Seth has only known Tracy as the sickly woman named Nora. Suddenly she goes from her death bed to wonderous health. Aslo she has become a very strong, independant, beautiful woman who knocks him off his feet. He finds hims self confused by her ways but also very drawn to her.

Tracy/Nora, who wanted no chance at love now finds herself dreaming of Seth and wants his love. Together they must overcome obsticals in order to be together.

I enjoyed this story and probably will buy more from this author. Its filled with humor and sweetness. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to read a story that will make them smile and laugh and feel great after.
