Summary: A luring historical romance
Review: In 1858, Mairey Faelyn loves traipsing all over the English countryside seeking anything related to the Celtic culture. Lord Jackson Rushmore, a leading industrialist, covets the legendary Celtic pin, Willowknot, which allegedly contains a map to one of the richest silver lodes in the country. Richard figures Mairey can provide him with the information he seeks. Richard forces Mairey to stay on his estate while working for him. They soon exchange hungry kisses and begin to fall in love with each other. Just as important, he begins to understand the deep desires for heritage that possess Mairey and her sisters. She begins to see the inner core of the hard shelled Richard. However, Mairey has vowed to protect Wiilowknot even as her wedding vows leave her in conflict. Is love enough to keep this relationship going when he demands her to surrender even as he fails to see the greatest treasure of them all is in his grasp. THE WEDDING NIGHT is a luring historical romance that provides readers a different look into mid-nineteenth century England. (Yes, Virginia there is more to the country than London.) The story line is loaded with a moral dilemma countered by humorous moments. The lead protagonists are a fine couple and her siblings augment the tale with jocularity and a reverence towards custom. Linda Needham, who already has fashioned a delightful resume (see HER SECRET GUARDIAN and FOR MY LADY'S KISS), provides sub-genre fans with an arousing and appealing Victorian romance. Summary: Excellent, touching story..(4 1/2 stars)
Review: I absolutely LOVED this book...Mairey was an extremely likeable character and I have to say that Jack has made my list of all time favorite heroes. He was so unbearably sweet and open with his affection. It was such a pleasure watching him interact not only with Mairey , but with her little sisters as well. I have but one quibble with this book..it has to do with a part of the plot and an absolutely ridiculous decision that Mairey makes towards the end of the book...it is eventually resolved, but just the fact that she made such a choice( which I wont reveal because it would be entering spoiler territory)made me want to scream and hurl this book at the wall. Now..disregard that statement and RUN out to get this book...it is an absolute treasure!

Review: I fell instantly in love with Lord Jackson Rushford and spentthe entire book envying the unique and delightful heroine for gettingto snag him! I happen to enjoy the study of antiquities, especially when the heroine is studying them in the presence of a mouth-watering male like Rushford. I couldn't put this one down!

Summary: A story of love and passion at its best
Review: I loved every moment reading the story of Mairey and Jack, two very passionate individuals who clearly and beautifully compliment each other. Ms. Needham's style of writing is not lyrical nor is it very Elizabeth Barrett-Browning; nonetheless, I enjoyed the down-to-earth exchange of anger, passion, love and laughter among the characters. I would certainly keep this book and read it all over again, and I can't wait to read Ms. Needham's other works as well.

Summary: A Real Yawner
Review: I must admit that I was a bit shocked to find the glowing reviews of this book after I tried to schlep through it. Frankly, this book was boring. I couldn't get much more than 1/3 of the way through it. I don't like books that deal with made up legends and make the heroine such a priss about "preserving" some kind of past. Rubbish. Read Scandal's Bride if you want decent treatment of the subject, at least.

Summary: A great love story amid a delightful family setting
Review: I really enjoyed this book, from the first page to the last. The heroine is a darling beauty and scholarly with it. Her family is a charmer and the hero everything you can expect. Handsome, rich, caring for the beauty and for everybody who works for him A real delight!!!! Having read The Maiden Bride by the same author, I think Ms. Needham is at her best in this early Victorian times setting. Her description of the resources available for researchers in mid-19th century are excellent.

Review: Mairey (an antiquarian) is contracted by Lord to find the "Willow Moon Knot" which is to show the secrets of where lost silver can be found in England. But Mairey has taken a family pledge to not reveal the ware bouts of the silver, and hide the willow knot if it is found. Lord Jackson Rushford forces Mairey Faelyn to move onto his estate--where she sees that despite Jack's wealth and power, he guards his heart more strongly than any treasure. As they kiss in the moonlit woods, she knows that he is the one man she should never marry. When she falls in love with him and they get married what can she do about the family pledge and the silver and in doing so can she keep her heart in tact? I thoroughly enjoyed the book though I don't recommend this reader to anyone. I thought when she took on the voice of the main character she slowed it down to much and made her sound a little stupid. But, she was ok with the male voices.
