Summary: Part 2 of the Wonderful Wild Wicked Series
Review: Set in Wales 1280 under the reign of King Edward. Roger FitzAlan, an English knight of the realm, catches sight of a young woman galloping off into the woods on a black Arabian horse. He races off after her, only to lose her but walks straight into a trap. Teleri, an orphan brought up in the woods, shunned by the villagers because they believe her to be a witch stumbles upon the half dead knight lying in the woods. She saves the reluctant knight and falls in love with him. But will Roger let go of his past and learn to love Teleri in return? "I leaned my back against an oak thinking it was a trusty tree. But first it bent, and then it broke and let me down as my love did me."

Truly a beautiful love story interwoven into its natural surrounding. Roger is the typical handsome knight in shining armour but the heroine, Teleri is a real gem. She is so kind and innocent but at the same time not weak. She's attracted by all wounded souls, be they animals or wounded knights. It was funny imagining this slip of a girl taming her angry knight and heartening to watch him softening under her gentle influence. The "loving" scenes were hot, sensual and daring, maybe too daring for that era but who's complaining!

Lealing

Summary: An Important Choice
Review: Teleri of the woods has been shunned by those in the nearest village. She is harassed, and doesn't trust other people as a general rule. She doesn't trust Roger FitzAlan either, but he needs help, and she gives it.

This is a great tale, and a moving story of a couple who must learn to trust each other and themselves. Teleri has to make some very important decisions that she does not take lightly, and stand to change her life as she knows it. I highly recommend this novel to anyone looking for a wonderful love story.

Summary: A letdown after the other 2 books...
Review: The is the second book of the trilogy. To be truthful, I don't really like it. I feel that there are too many animals. Jill Barnett had focused too much on the animals, resulting in the lack of romance. I don't mean that there is no romance in this book. There is but not that much. Some of the parts are funny but I still prefer the other two books in the trilogy.

Summary: A fresh spin on the typical medieval romance!
Review: What a fresh spin on the typical medieval romance! Roger, one of the King's men, a knight of breeding and wealth, finds himself in the simple world of Teleri, an outcast living in the depths of the forest, with little human contact and few earthly possesions. The humor and sexual tension between the two pulls you into the story. The author does a good job of revealing the depths of yearning each has for something more. The only negative comment I have is regarding the final conflict resolution between Roger and his unknown enemy. I found that to be somewhat melodramatic and unsatisfying. However, the story as a whole is very entertaining and Roger and Teleri are two people that I could care about and wanted desperately to find their happiness. It was a real page turner.

Summary: Couldn't Put it Down
Review: What a terrific story. The characters were well written. I love when I can get to know the main characters inside and out. Jill Barnett has a wonderful way of painting them every time. I love to laugh at the silly antics she uses in her stories. What a way to describe the love scenes. I read them more than once as they made my heart race. Thanks again to Jill Barnett for marvelous entertainment.

Summary: A bit disappointed
Review: While in Wales scouting out a spot for another of King Edward's castles to be built, an enemy of Roger FitzAlan tries to hang him. His life is spared by the weight of his mail, therefore causing the tree branch to break.

Believed by the townspeople to be a witch Teleri lives a simple life all alone with her animals. When Teleri comes across Roger lying under a tree with a rope around his neck she first believes he is dead. But when she realizes that he is not she does all she can to care for him. When Roger awakens, unable to talk, he finds himself in a simple hut with a beautiful woman and her animals.

Roger stays with Teleri for a fortnight, allowing his would-be-murderer to believe him dead. During this time Roger and Teleri fall in love and handfast, but there is always the threat of the person who wants him dead.

This was a good book, but I found the ending to be lacking. The murderer was unimaginative and didn't particularly strike me as having anything to do with the story.

I do recommend this book in order to keep with the series, but after reading Wonderful and Wicked there is no comparison.

Summary: A delightful charmer of a book!
Review: WILD is a tender, winsome delight. It has the humor I've come to expect from Barnett laced with some wonderful depth of character and luminous prose. I can't wait for her next book!
