Summary: Great Read! Great Romance!
Review: "Soap Opera" is an extremely clever and entertaining story about the on- and off-camera lifes of a group of fascinating characters from the world of soaps. The author has created a warm family feeling among many of the characters and the writing is witty and moves at a brisk pace. There's also a really great romantic element to it and plenty of shocking plot twists. Great for the inside scoop on the world of daytime TV. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very highly recommended!!

Review: Anyone who's ever watched a soap opera will enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at the scheming and maneuvering backstage at "Another Life." It gives a fresh, fun twist to the old story of "young girl moves to the big city and finds love but is then threatened by a secret from her past." The flavor of life in New York is especially well-captured and the characters are wonderful -- especially Jade, a great sly seductive villainesses in the grand tradition of soaps.

Summary: Sensational Summer Fun: A Great Page Tuner!
Review: Fulton creates some very fun and credible characters and weaves them into a plot which is very suspenseful. I found it to be a quick read, and after the first few chapters I couldn't put it down. The plot twists and turns in ways which were clever and very original. I especially loved the wonderfully wicked Jade Savage--a true soap opera vixen if there ever was one!. Anyone who loves soap operas, romance novels or mystery and suspense novels will love this book.

Review: I bought this book with the hopes that I'd be able to get into it like I get into my daily soaps. Unfortunately, while the plot has some promise, the writing is amateruish and the research is lacking. The characters are undeveloped and the storyline skips ahead of the reader's knowledge on too numerous occasions to mention; the author mistakes her readers for psychics. And would someone please tell Ms. Fulton that Virginia is NOT in the Midwest! UGH. Save your money for bon bons to snack on during the real soap operas.

Review: I loved this book and found it incredibly sensual!! I couldn't believe how many ways Miss Fulton found to describe the human body!! It was incredibly sexy and provocative and the story was never predictable in anyway. Non-stop fun from beginning to end. Read it while the weather's still hot!!

Summary: GREAT READ: FUN AND SEXY!
Review: I never thought I could read this kind of book more than once, but I enjoyed the paperback even more than the hardback! The book is deliciously witty and well-plotted, full of great characters--the evil director with the nasty habits is my favorite--and relentllessly fast-paced. Once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down. It's also very erotic in a lot of places and those bits are well handled. Five stars!

Review: I really had high expectations for this book, I figured that with the author's soap opera background she would easily be able to write the quintessential "behind the scenes" style book. I was sooooooo mistaken, this book was more like the Sweet Valley High twins act on a soap! How utterly disappointing, the book was poorly written (our young herione is a whimpering idiot who is both overwhelmed and gushing over every single detail at the same time). She doesn't know what to do about anything, EVER, but is thoroughly enamored of every aspect of the goings on around her. If I read a sentence along the lines of; "oh, I just don't know what I'll do" again I swear my head would've spun. The book is contrived, the characters even more so, for example; the stunt man never does a stunt, the reader has no idea how old the heroine even is until halfway thru, and a very promising female antagonist is wasted on one story driven plot. Really, the book was just a waste of time. It seemed like a great idea but it never came to fruition. The characters were never fleshed out. I was hoping from more than a cheesy drugstore paperback book, especially by someone in the industry, but all this book was missing was Fabio and a heaving bosomed woman on the cover. And just for the record, I am an avid soap opera watcher. Sorry Lisa.

Review: I think it's very sad that so many aspiring novelists go unpublished, while someone who obviously lacks writing talent is able to get something published based on the fact that they're a "name". While the storyline had some potential, this was probably the most poorly written book I've ever read in my life.The author's constant use of exclamation points was very amateur. The dialogue between characters was contrived and asinine. The characters themselves were completely undeveloped, with only the slightest description of them physically. I was uanble to form a picture of *any* of these characters in my mind, as I usually am when reading a novel. As I said, the storyline had some potential...had it been better developed. I mean, what 18 year old from "the midwest" (since when is Virginia in the midwest?) gets a couple of hundred bucks from her widowed father, hops on a plane to NYC, checks into her conveniently-arranged Village sublet and within weeks is suddenly the star of a television soap opera? What widowed father readily hands over money to his wimpy teenage daughter (and yes, this character is a wimp) and sends her off alone to NYC to break into show business? Why does Jade take such an instant dislike to Amanda? Why does Monique treat her like a daughter? Why does a guy who fights with her on the plane trip to NYC fall in love with her almost immediately the day he meets up with her at the show? Why has her ex-fiancee stayed around for months while she makes her decision? These are just a few of the things the author really should've developed if she wanted to put out an even halfway decent novel.
