Rating: Summary: It Was The Best! Review: "Beyond Forever" was the sweetest most romantic book I have ever read! When I put it down I had the biggest grin on my face. Debra Dier is one of the best authors I have ever been priviledged to read. It's about a ghost named Gavin who needs the help of the main character to prevent his son's and his own untimely death. The only problem is that he doesn't trust women because of his wife's deceit when he lived and she doesn't trust men because of the manipulations of her ex-fiancee. When she is forcibly removed from her own time and travels back about 200 years she has to find a way to save the highland lord and his son even though his suspicions are aroused at her sudden appearance in his life. The attraction between the two of them caused sparks when he was a ghost, imagine what happens when he is flesh and blood.
Rating: Summary: WONDERFULLY ROMANTIC Review: A fascinating story about a love that defies the bondage of time. This story embraces the romantic concept of soul-mates that love again and again thoughout time. This is the first book I have read of Debra Dier and she has caught me truly in her net with the heart-stopping, breath-catching, tear-jerking romance she has created. I have read another book that dealt with a similar subject and walked away feeling somehow cheated. NOT so with Dier's heart-warming tale. Her ending was very satisfying. A very good book for those of us who enjoy reading with a box of tissues within arms reach. Deir combines elements of fun with the deeper more compelling emotions of endless love.

Rating: Summary: Devastingly good at times but marred byan irritating middle Review: Beyond Forever is a book that held much promise. The beginning and the end of the book are its best sections because the characters are fun, charming and heartwarming. But, sadly, the book wasted far too much of it's middle with the characters caught in a seemingly endless cycle of annoying "I hate you but, darn it, my traitorous body still wants you oh-so-bad" behavior. As a result, what could have been an exceptional read turned out to be yet another average one. Still, if you love time travel, surly, sexy Scottish heroes, believe in soul-mates and don't have a problem with the type of relationship that I've described above you may love this one.

Rating: Summary: Captivating historical adventure Review: I had so much fun reading this book! It is one of the best romance books I've ever read. Debra Dier is a master at her craft, having created an intelligent historic romance rich with adventure, intrigue, mystery, and sensuality. This is an evocative original-a must read.
Rating: Summary: If you like time travel novels, you have to have this one! Review: I loved this book! I agree with another reviewer in saying that Ms. Dier just goes right into the plot, with Julia meeting Gavin's ghost in the opening chapter. From there, the author takes you on an incredible ride. I couldn't put it down. From start to finish (and everything in between), the reader is captivated. I would recommend this to anyone!

Rating: Summary: One of the few paperback romances on my keeper shelf. Review: I was amazed to read several reviews, including one here, that loved the beginning and hated the middle of this book. It is the middle that made this a book that I kept and read again and again. There would be no book if Ms Dier had stayed in the present. Gavin's problem could only be solved in the past. An easy and happy solution to Gavin's problems in the past would have made this another average romance novel. (Based on the set in the present beginning, I am sure I would have loved the book, but it still would have been an everyday average read.) The exploration of Julia's decision to fight to save Gavin, from the dangers around him and himself, and Gavin's internal battle to trust Julia and overcome the bitter man he was at the time of his original death are what make this a extraordinary novel. By the way the original plot twist at the end gives a new meaning to happy ever after.
Rating: Summary: One of Debra Dier's best! Review: If you like Debra Dier, Time Travel, or Paranormal romances, this book is for you! Beyond Forever is one of the most satisfying books of this genre that I have ever read. As another reader said, too many of these books end in cliches or by way of overused plot devices, but the ending here was both a surprise and entirely consistent with the plot and the characters. In short, Debra Dier has crafted one of the best ghost/time travel romances ever written. This is definitely a keeper!
