Rating: Summary: Recommend it Review: Fantastic Story in High Energy. Wished it didn't end. Laughed out loud.
Rating: Summary: Recommend it Review: HIGH ENERGY - Zanita Masterson, reporter for a small-town newspaper owned by her grandpa, is tired of the brainless assignments she's given and wants to get something with more pizazz. So she goes to sign up for a psychic healing class thinking to do a story on it and ends up in a physics class instead. (Zanita can't spell.) The instructor is none other than world-reknowned Tyberius Augustus Evans, hunk extraordinaire'. He sees Zanita and he's hooked. Zanita and Tyber are two people with a mission...Zanita to get her story and Tyber to get Zanita. ONly Zanita has sworn off men. A light and amusing story. The secondary characters are terrific...Zanita's friend "Mills" is a babe in her own right and we meet a possible match for her, but Zanita's "Auntie" is the star, with three hats and an attitude. I can't tell you enough good things about it. Read it!

Rating: Summary: Quantum physics has never had so much appeal... Review: High Energy has almost convinced me (a die-hard humnanities person) to delve into the hitherto unfathomable field of physics -- especially if I could find an instructior like Ty (little chance)...anyway, if one doesn't appreciate physics one will after reading High Energy. This book could easily stand on its own merit without the added inducement of Ms. Krentz (whom I also read avidly). However, the unique storyline and characters of Ms. Joy's book warrent recognition in themselves. She peoples her books with eccentric characters who are worth the time one spends in their company -- and whom most romantics will want to revisit again and again. Just visiting the hero's home would be worth a read even if he weren't a hero worth a dream or two. I am not a contemporary romance fan as a rule, but this book satisfies most romantic dreams...and offers a mini-science lesson in the bargain
Rating: Summary: Dara Joy romp is well paired with Krentz classic Review: High Energy, by Dara Joy, is paired with a reprint of an early Jayne Ann Krentz novel, Whirlwind Courtship. Whirlwind Courship is a fun book, with Krentz's usual fiesty heroine and masterful hero. The real riches are found in High Energy.
It has been years since I've laughed out loud so much during one book. It is full of very well written humor. Neither the male nor female love interest is overbearing or full of angst; they find themselves tangled in each other emotionally and physically.
The hero, Tyberius Augustus Evans, is a brilliant, rich, sexy, eccentric physicist. The heroine, Zanita Masterson, is no mere place holder, but is a funny, wry reporter for a small-town newspaper. When she stumbles into his professional seminar and sees a way to get an interview withthe famous recluse, she can't resist luring him into it. But he has decided to lure her into something decidedly different...
I've enjoyed Dara Joys futuristic romances, but I sincerely hope that she writes more romps like this
Rating: Summary: A wonderful find!!! Review: I bought this book originally because I am a huge Jayne Ann Krentz fan. But I found a wonderful new author in Dara Joy! I found this story one of the most delightful that I've read in a long time. The characters of Tyber and Zanita should be continued in a series as the new Nick and Nora Charles!! I doubt that the original Nick and Nora were quite this sexy. The three "S's" (strong, sexy, and smart) definately describe Tyberius Augustus Evans. He could teach me physics any day!! If they ever thought about a movie for this book the ideal Tyber is Jeff Goldblum. The second and third time I read it I kept thinking of him. If you haven't read it run out and get it. You won't be sorry. I am ordering Ms. Joy's book "Night of a Trillion Stars" because of this story. I expect this one to be just as good as "High Energy" was
Rating: Summary: Must Read! Review: I bought this book solely for High Energy because of the wonderful word of mouth reviews Joy got on the listserv rra-l (Romance Readers of America list). I can say I bought this double volume just for High Energy because I am a big fan of Jayne Ann Krentz and happened to already have two copies of Whirlwind Courtship which I'd read over six times each. Buying the two in one volume is almost too much enjoyment for one binding! Joy's hero in this story is so endearing and the humor is so wonderful that you will want to go out and buy everything of hers you can find! Which is why I'm visiting Amazon today actually...you may want to get your copies quick
