Summary: Savage Ecstasy
Review: Believe it or not this is the very first romance novel I had ever read. Here it is over 15 years later, and I still love this book. The emotion between Alicia and Gray Eagle is very intense, so is the storyline in this book. I won't give anything away, but this book is not for the faint of heart. Because Alicia is his captive, Grey Eagle is quite brutal, and even cruel at times. If it bothers you to read about the hero getting violent with the heroine, this is not the book for you. The entire Ecstacy series is great, but I liked this book the best. I recommend that if you love Native American romances, you will like this one. Even though this book has a lot of sentimental value to me, I still rate it a three because of the violence Alicia receives from Grey Eagle. Still it is worth the read.

Summary: The complete "ecstasy" set.....
Review: Having read the complete set of 8 "ecstasy" books by Janelle Taylor, I can whole-heartedly endorse her as the premiere writer of Indian historical novels... and the romance isn't bad either!

You will be glad you read them all.... and, believe this, if you read one you will simply HAVE to read the others.

Summary: Garbage!
Review: It was like lightning striking, the first time they looked into each other's eyes: Gray Eagle, the captured Indian brave, and Alisha, the beautiful young settler. As the proud Oglala warrior was being tortured by his white captors, only Alisha seemed to notice that he was a human being -- handsome and strong, and one who took her breath away. But if Alisha could have read Gray Eagle's thoughts she would have been even more disturbed. Because from the moment he saw her, the Indian knew that he had to possess the fair-skinned one -- and his life would not be complete until he had made her his slave!

Summary: this is love?
Review: Maybe I am just not romantic enough, but it seems to me that Alisha is suffering from a really bad case of Stockholm Syndrome: she loves a man who behaves horribly most of the time. For every caress are several scowls. I found her somewhat silly (I love you! I hate you! being screamed within seconds of each other). This series doesn't measure up to Janelle Taylor's Destiny Mine.

Summary: WONDERFUL
Review: My sister got me started reading Indian romance novels. And although I enjoy them as a whole, most are filled with unbelievable mush and unrealistic plots. BUT, Savage Ecstasy is completely different. It is totally believable. You would believe you were reading a real account of a white woman who fell in love with an Indian. Their trials and triumphs are so powerful it had me crying numerous times. I LOVED IT!!!! Once you read it you must read the following sequels.

Summary: Garbage!
Review: This book contains all of the worst cliches of Native/white relationships. He treats her cruelly when they first meet, but she cannot help but be attracted to him. He makes her his slave and she loves him. He tortures her emotionally and she loves him. He offers her to another brave and she loves him. He nearly whips her to death and she loves him. He threatens to kill many innocent people unless she comes back to him, and she does. And on the very last page he finally decides he loves her and that they will live happily ever after. Crap, crap and more crap. I wish I could give it less than 1 star! I will avoid this author like the plague from now on.

Summary: Colorful, Dramatic, and Full of Feeling
Review: This book pulled me in from the beginning.A woman falling in love with an indian at the wrong time of the century. Janelle Taylor leaves nothing out about their trials and tribulations. This is one gripping book you won't be able to put down!
