Rating: Summary: Flat characters! Review: I was very disappointd! It has been a very long time since I had the misfortune of reading a book with such a one-dimensional hero! Adam Romero is just not realistic. He is not old enough to have forgotten what it was like to be in college and having to "rough" it a little. You can understand the griping at the beginning, but when it is still going on at the end it's just a little too much! Additionally, Alex comes from Cuban descent and is really concerned with human rights activities - I can honestly tell you a person such as this would not be as hung up about clothes and food as he was! They make a point of his heritage at the beginning and then it is completely dropped fpr the stereotypical corporate millionaire persona. It was a great disappointment!
Rating: Summary: Cute, but nothing special. Review: If you want a fun, fluffy read, this is it. The characters were fairly good, the story OK, minor characters were interesting, but had no presense, and were completely dropped much too soon. The inaccuracies were there, but not such a big deal in such a non-serious, light book. It didn't stand out to me, either good or bad, but was somewhere in a gray area of "entertaining, but unremarkable."

Rating: Summary: A great read Review: Perhaps the only people to rival the power of multi-billionaire Alex Romero are the President and Bill Gates and many observers feel the latter duo fall short. The tabloids have dubbed Alex "Romeo" because he seemingly can have just about any woman in the world. When a group asks Alex to launder money for them, he goes to the police, offering to testify against the criminals. The FBI soon learns that the thugs ordered a hit against Alex. Alex scoffs at the idea that someone wants him dead until a pizza deliveryman makes the attempt. Agent Kate Ellison saves Alex's life and he knows he must hide. Kate and Alex move into a working class neighborhood until the trial is completed. Alex struggles with life among the masses, landing in strange predicaments. As Kate and Alex begin to fall in love, they struggle to elude a dangerous individual trying to eliminate them before Alex testifies. Connie Lane has written a hilarious romantic comedy that has readers laughing as they observe the sophisticated hero feebly bumbling his way through his new life. The heroine is a strong individual who serves as a stalwart role model. The mystery adds spice to the tasty story line of REINVENTING ROMEO. Harriet Klausner

Rating: Summary: A Romance Story Of A Lustful Nature... Review: Reinventing Romeo by talented writer Connie Lane-- A sexy bachelor marries a beautiful FBI Agent and the fireworks begin! A match made in heaven? NO, actually it was made in the headquaters of an FBI office, to keep sexy millionaire Alex Romero hidden undercover from a hit that had been put out on him. And, so a romance story of a lustful nature begins as the beautiful female FBI Agent struggles to keep her witness alive long enough to make it to a court hearing and the wealthy, goodlooking bachelor wondering if he will live long enough to tell Kate he has fallen in love with her
Rating: Summary: An absolute delight! Review: Reinventing Romeo is a sure cure for the February blahs! It was great fun to visualize Alex Romero, an unwilling member of the witness protection program, whisked away by FBI agent Kate Ellison to a working class neighborhood in Cleveland. Life without gofers, yes-men, and limos - quite an adjustment for an entrepreneur used to getting his own way without any questions! Even more astounding to Alex is the fact that unlike most women of his acquaintance, Kate seems impervious to his wealth and charm. Kate isn't quite as indifferent to Alex as he thinks, but her first priority is keeping this crucial witness alive until he testifies at an important trial. The dialogue sparkles, the humor is delightful, and the secondary characters make the Cleveland neighborhood come alive. I'm a bookseller and have recommended this book to a number of my customers. Many of them have come back to ask when Connie Lane's next book comes out. It can't be soon enough for me!
Rating: Summary: Female FBI agent vs. handsome tycoon! Review: Right away you know this has to be an interesting mix...and it is! She's assigned to protect him from a hit man and she takes her job very, very seriously! He's handsome, wealthy and his reputation is fitting for his last name; "Romeo". After he gets past the idea of a woman being a shield between him and danger, he's just trying to determine the best way to go about seducing her! In the meantime, when she isn't busy trying to keep him from being killed she's teaching him how the "other half" lives. This was a fun read. If I had any complaints at all it's just that the plot, which had great possiblities, was a little weak. However, the sparks between Kate and Alex fly off the page and you become so involved with their relationship you tend to forget why they're together in the first place. Very entertaining and I look forward to Connie Lane's next book.
Rating: Summary: Worse than a Sitcom... Review: The plot sounded cute but the writer worked so hard at creating sexual tension betweeen two very contrived characters that the story suffered. The name Romeo is appropriate though because the hero acts like an adolescent--sulky and rebellous when his life is at stake. I didn't buy that the heroine was an FBI agent for one minute. The secondary characters were strictly out of a bad sitcom--Lane didn't miss a single cliche. I found nothing original or worth reading.
