Summary: Satisfy My Soul
Review: This book was totally deep....I loved the fact that Colin
touched on every aspect of human life.
Religion touching paganism, Judaism, Christianity, Muslim, etc.
Then he evaluated friendship in terms economics.
He evaluated romantic relationships and it's effect on friendship.
Socialism, Capitalism and Communist...nature vs. nuture
God Colin Channer I believe you're a very talented
writer and wish I could I write like you.
That book was totally on another level.

Please hurry up with the next one!

Summary: Satisfy My Soul... does
Review: Satisfy My Soul is a wonderfully complex and intellectual story. It mixes religion, and love... lust and serious soul searching. From the first moments we are treated to the lyrical prose of a truly gifted writer. Channer manages to weave the tale of an obviously physically attractive man, while all the while maintaining his humility. It is a delightful read, and I would heartily recommend it to anyone interested in not just a love story, but a story about love, life, and the changes that come about when one has the courage to face it all head on.

Summary: Another stellar read by Channer
Review: Waiting in Vain was a hard act to follow, but Channer's Satisfy My Soul is a stellar effort. Once again the characterization, story-line and descriptive passages exemplify the epitomy of fine writing. He takes the reader to a level of consciousness and awareness of the physical, spiritual and emotional that leaves one almost breathless. His treatment of things transcending ordinary religion/beliefs forces you to look beyond your own static frame of mind and soar to new levels of exploration. And once again, his lovers ignite passion and eroticism like none other. Theirs is truly the once-in-a-lifetime love aphrodisiac we all seek to find.

Summary: satisfy my soul
Review: This is a story that has many levels. The author takes the reader on a wonderful spiritual and erotic trip and keeps us there until the final pages. Colin Channer knows how to tell a story. If you've ever been in love and consumed by a person, body and soul this is the read for you... enjoy!

Summary: Excellent, if you can relate!!
Review: This book was excellent. I see that it received a lot of mixed reviews, but I'm thinking that that is the case because of the kind of story it is. A lot of people aren't ready to be taken to the spiritual level that Colin brings you to in this one. A lot of the information is not easy to accept, and some readers may have been offended. This is one that I would only recommend to some one that has had or is having an expeience with a soul mate......If one hasn't had the experience, then they wouldn't understand the story.

Summary: Is this the same author that wrote "Waiting in Vain"?
Review: Satisfy My Soul by Colin Channer, the acclaimed author of Waiting In Vain, writes about a man who is searching for love, God, and himself. His best friend is an astute Christian but he has doubts about God because of previous life experiences and decisions. He meets some erotic yet obsessive and obviously destructive female who he is sexually attracted to. He cannot tell the difference between Sexual attraction and a healthy love relationship. (I wasn't crazy about this plot, but okay, let's go with it)

This story was an utter disappointment. It seemed that Colin was itching to get his 2nd novel out in main stream and did not fully think this story through. The character developments were okay but the follow through was not believable and thus the climax let me down. Granted the climax was a page turner but not realistic based on the development of the characters.

The plot was feasable, the story interesting, and good writing (except for the sloppy, overwritten love/sex/lust scenes. He seems to want to play on the great love scenes from his previous novel, but ended up going too far!), but the wrap up was rushed.

All in all, I would not recommend this book although, Colin Channer is a very good writer based on his first novel. I will definitely pick up his next book, with much anticipation.

Summary: A simplistic portrayal of numerous complex issues
Review: It's enjoyable to read Satisfied My Soul. Enjoyable because I am rereading the book, and because the book covers a wide range of sensitive and intense topics. The book covers the topics jointly yet separately, and within this joint and separate scope, the author switches readers between reality and fantasy. I also like that the author's decriptions are sufficiently graphic to cement the images and characters in the reader's mind. Mr. Channer produces an artistic portrayal of one person's life, which is also the portrayal of everyone's life. And his protrayal is as realistic as everyday life. I can't wait to read his next novel or novella.

Summary: I'm Ready to Read It Again..
Review: "Satisfy My Soul" is sensual as well as uplifting to the spirit. I found reaffirming truths thoughout this book.. The need for quiet in your life to retune and get in sync with the universe. For only when you are in tune can you become aware of your purpose in life. Belief is based on your personal relationship with God and is not defined by any one religion. While meant to be a fictional story, Carey raises questions we all should ask at some point in our lives - "Who do you love?" "What do you believe" "What do you think lies behind the curtain of this life" This book is a must read...I'm going to read it again!!

Summary: Sensational
Review: Colin Channer's work is a must read!! I loved how the protagonist Carey McCullough seeks to find himself and finds more than he bargained for in his mate. This truly is a fabulous exploration of spirituality, sensuality, and intellect. Even the play on the characters names (Carey McCullough and Frances Carey) was a delight. I brought the book when it was released, read in 2 days and have read it several times since (Hearing Mr. Channer read this book At Brownstone Books certainly added to my next read...his voice is divine). This book is a must have for all those seeking more than a trashy romance novel but still needing a catalyst for dreaming of ways to get your mind, body, and spirit going. High marks for Mr. Channer

Summary: A SATISFIED SOUL!
Review: Colin Channer has done it again! A gifted and talented wordsmith, Channer has weaved another hynoptic tale of love, life, mysticism, truth and the richness of all that is Jamaica and spirituality and blackness. Carey McCullough is called to partake of a splendid repast, Frances Carey, a divine diva of a feast, a beautiful black woman in whom passion, knowledge and confidence swirl like a virulent Caribbean storm. The flame she ignites in our playwright spurs him toward a love the likes of which he has never known, a love that welds a mighty blow to him and Kwabena, a love that catapults McCullough into the purity of spirit, allowing him rest and time to think of how he will reunite with her again.

In the reading, my soul was showered in the blessings of sensually poetic, richly provocative prose, and an intellect worthy of a memorable, leading contemporary writer. I commend Channer on the skillful use of first person, present tense and a terse, sparkling tapestry of a narrative. I love his ability to examine a brother's soul and extract the essence of historical ambiguities, religious quandries, societal ills, and ancient knowings that lead to light. I love his blending of races, unlikely lives, and religion ideas. Truly, Channer understands the notion of "We are ONE" and that Love is all there is.

Like WAITING IN VAIN, SATISFY MY SOUL has left me satisfied and "searching until I find" Channer's next gem.
