Rating: Summary: Couldn't Get Enough Review: A friend recommended this book and once I started reading it I couldn't out it down, I finished it one day. The characters are realistic and being that I am from NY I can can also visualize some of places that the events took place. I enjoyed it so much that I picked the second book up right after I finished the first and I can't wait for the third one to come out.
Rating: Summary: SENSUOUS, DARING, THOUGHT-PROVOKING Review: Andria has been hurt one time too many. This time by Paul, a man who professed readiness to settle down even though he was on a personal mission to satisfy every woman who was being satisfied at home. After catching Paul getting busy in their own bed, Andria hands him the proverbial walking papers. Rashaun is a successful man who has also been hurt one time too many. After discovering a sex tape labeled "blackfunk" that contains the love of his life engaged in consensual rape with his best friend, he decides that he will never fall in love again. As usual, one should never say never. Temptation and loneliness draw Andria and Rashaun to each other like moths to a flame. The only question is can they commit to one another while deep-rooted issues are still hanging over their heads. On top of the obvious trust issues, Andria comes from a dysfunctional family and Rashaun has always felt the pain of being nicknamed "Blackey" because of his complexion. Then there are their friends, who have just as much emotional baggage as they do. Andria has a married girlfriend that is still acting like she is single and bedding down men at will. Rashaun has a friend that thinks he was put on this earth to get his freak on and nothing else. Then there is Paul, Andria's ex who attempts to make her jealous by hooking up with one of her friends. Filled with erotic sex scenes, informative dialogue about the history of "blackfunk" dating back to slavery days, and witty twists in the plot, Blackfunk is a different kind of read that will have readers mesmerized long after the last page has been turned.
Rating: Summary: Experience BlackFunk Review: Andria is a woman who has been run over by the train of love one time too many. In her most recent relationship, her boyfriend was not satisfied with Andria, so he often went outside of their relationship for sex. He had an overabundant sexual appetite. Andria fears being alone the most and she is devastated by the breakup with her lover. Friendships are also a very important part of her life, and Robin, Andria's best friend, is right there to help Andria through her pain. Rashaun, a charcoal Black man, is living a comfortable life and carries himself as a confirmed bachelor. He once gave his heart to a woman, and she stomped all over it until it exploded. After this experience he swore to himself that he would never let anyone else get close to him again. Andria and Rashaun are two beautiful yet complex people who are drawn to each other, and the story of their relationship is an exotic, erotic, and emotional journey, that keeps the pages of this novel turning. BlackFunk was a very emotional and interesting read. The concept of the term BlackFunk fascinated me and will fascinate anyone that reads the book as well. I will not share the meaning of BlackFunk in this review because I feel that it would give away too much. I highly recommened this book; on the RAW scale it is a 4.5. Reviewed by Simone A. Hawks
Rating: Summary: Caught on Video! Review: Blackfunk is a titilating tale of the black man's struggle to do right by a woman. He (the main character) dates girl, who for all intent and purposes he believes is his until a video tape labeled BLACKFUNK reveals her sexcapades with his friend and shatters a deeply rooted place in his heart that no woman can touch or can one? Blackfunk is HOT and screams of male bravado. Buy it, read it, but most of all don't let your BLACKFUNK get caught on tape!

Rating: Summary: Must Read Review: Blackfunk was so true, the characters deal with issues that we have dealt with and one point or another. I mean the self hate that Rashawn experienced and Andrea fear of a relationship was real and made the end where they finally came together so worth it. I cannot wait for the sequel. Go out and get this book

Rating: Summary: Love is out there, you just have to find it Review: Have you ever read a book that you just don't get? That's the way I felt reading this book. The author does not do a good job of creating the synopsis of the book until close to the end. I'm not sure what the main focus of the book was, but if I had to guess I would say it was vaguely about honesty and trust in relationships. The book opens with Andria catching her boyfriend Paul in bed with the neighbor, Florence. Andria yells and screams for them both to get out. Paul packs his stuff and leaves. Now we have Rashun, a tall, dark chocolate brother that is a high powered attorney. He has given up on finding a good, faithful woman. He finds a video tape of his girlfriend with another man. This man is performing blackfunk on her. Now in order to find out what blackfunk is, you have to read the book. Rashaun and Andria meet at a club and they are both smitten with each other. They get to know each other over the months, and then it gets serious. They both have trials and tribulations that they go through with all the emotional baggage they bring to their relationship. There is a part in the book about a priestess that is very entertaining that makes this book worth reading. You will read about the interesting way Rashaun and Andria get rid of their demons. You'll also understand what blackfunk is and how it affects Rashaun and Andria's lives. Tracey R.E.A.L Reviewers

Rating: Summary: vulgar Review: Hello bookwriter, I found your book so interesting that I couldn't put the book down. I felt like I was in the story and could feel the pain that the chacthers were going throught. I found the book very descriptive and real to everyday situations. I wonder if the author was speaking from experiences or the chacthers were fake. Any way, I read it and I passed it on to my family and friends. I wasn't pleased about the cursing but I got the message that the author was trying to come across. I hope I could make one of the book signing. I bet he would be a nice person to know. I hope there's a part two because the first book is so well written. I hope he becomes famous as Jackie Collins because, she is well known. I don't want to go on for ever but the author is so moving that I just want to read more. So like I stated before I hope theres a part two and I hope theres less cursing and more loving. Also, Mr. Presley keep keeping it real because reader enjoy that and we can relate. Also, my book club members can't wait to meet you in person. Sincerely, Your #1 fan always!
