Rating: Summary: Must Read!!!!! Review: I had the honor of meeting Mary B. Morrison a few months ago at her book signing. She is one of the nicest people I have every meet. A great person to strike up a conversation with and she really wanted to know what you thought about her books. I came across Soulmates Dissapate by accident. It seemed interesting so I read it. Never did I imagine what I was getting myself into.
I found myself weaving into the lives of Diamond and Wellington; before I knew it, I'd read the other 3 books. You definetly have to read her books IN ORDER to be able to truly understand what's going on. If you don't know the background of each character, their current situations won't matter as much. Especially when it comes to Fancy Taylor from the book He's just a friend. When Fancy pops up again in Somebody's Gotta Be on Top I almost screamed because I knew her background. The books He's Just a Friend and Somebody's Gotta Be on Top are occuring at the same time span, just focusings on two different characters.
With Mary's books, at the end, she always leaves you wanting more. She gives you just enough information about the next book that you're sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for it to come out. Throughout the entire novel you will be shocked and amazed. At some points, you may even tear up a little, but whatever you do, you will continue reading.
In August 2006, Mary will release: Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This starring Darrius Jones and Fancy Taylor. I can't wait to go buy it. Because after the ending of the previous book, I have to know what's going on.
Rating: Summary: Hooked!! Review: I have read every novel Of Mary B.Morrison's since I picked up the Book Soulmates Dissipate. Ms. Morrison keeps you waiting for what will Happen in the next Chapter or paragraph. I read her last work, Somebody's Gotta Be On Top, and I am already eagerly awaiting the the Release of the newest book. She is a definite must read. You have to start from the first book to get the full twist of the story, and it is worth it. She is awesome.
Rating: Summary: Morrison is always on top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I was looking for a new book to read on Amazon and I came across Somebody Gotta Be on Top. I was extremly excited because I have read all of Mary's books. The book was awesome! This is a must read but you have to read them in order as they follow:
1.Soulmate Dissapate
2.Never again Once More
3.He just a Friend
4.Somebody Gotta Be on Top
Morrison will have you addicted and wanting more!
Rating: Summary: 5 Stars...NOPE! Review: I will say this. Mrs. Morrison has a flare for erotic writing. She's damn good at that. Her storylines however are not that great. I couldn't finish this book. It was slow and tormenting. And I must add VERY CONFUSING AT TIMES. It's not fair that a reader has to read ALL of her books just to know what the hell is going on with ONE. That makes no sense to me. Mrs. Morrison you can definitely write, but it's time to break your series of events up. Last, I will also say the Somebody's gotta be on top was a lot better than He's just a freind.
Rating: Summary: A Fabulous MUST Read!! Review: Mary B. Morrison is at the top of her game... She is by far one of my personal favorite authors.. This book is really good.. Mr. Darius is off the hook and that brother of his is too! I read this book in two days.. i couldnt stop turning the pages.. Her writing seems to grab the attention of the me every time and makes me incapable of not putting the book down. I would strongly suggest u too read this book but read "Soulmates Dissipate", "Never Again Once More", and "He's Just a Friend" first so that u can understand Darius' background. One thing i can say that i disliked is that it ended too soon and i wish that their was more envolvment between him and Fancy.
Rating: Summary: Waaaaaaay Better Than Zane!!!! Review: Somebody's Got To Be On Top was way better than Zane's recent novels. This book has a good story line with erotic flavor spiced in. Not just the grit and the grime of sex but sensual and erotic at the same time.
The main character Darius Jones was a trip. You talking about a straight dog and conceited.....whew!!!! He wanted to and did sleep with everything moving, including his sister now that was straight up doggish. He was so busy sleeping with all the females he came across that his brother was able to embezzle money from his business.
I can't wait to read another installment of this family saga. I was kind of disappointed that there wasn't more of Fancy Taylor in this story but as I got to the end I realized that this story was telling how Fancy and Darius met each other and the next story will be about them, again I can't wait. Fancy and Darius' attitudes coming together is what I consider a must read!!!!
Ms. Morrison definitely did you thang on this one. After reading this novel she has gained truckloads of more respect from me as a writer.
Later!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Who's on the bottom? Review: This book is on the bottom of my late great 2004 reads. Confusing, poor storyline, and no substance. Just a lot of exotic sex scenes and nothing else. Instead read THE PREACHER'S SON by Carl Webber and definitely read LUST OF THE FLESH by Beverly Roylat. This book is the best pageturner and enlightening novel I've ever read. Check them out.
Rating: Summary: Sometimes you want a soap opera. Review: This book was thoroughly entertaining in my opinion. Sometimes you simply want a story that's over the top, and for that this book delivers. This series of books reminds me of the Sheila Copeland series but Ms. Morrison's works are much much better. All the characters are dealing in millions in one way or another, all the characters are over the top but not so much where you can't read the book and enjoy it. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
Rating: Summary: There's those who do and those who don't.................... Review: those who don't never come out on top!
I had no plans to read this book. I've had it on the shelf for sometime and I was waiting for another book to arrive in the mail and needed something to pass the time....
YES THIS BOOK DOES THAT
At 22 Darius Jones is all grown up. Well, he maybe legal, but his antics are still very childlike.
Somebody's gotta be on top, might as well be Darius, right? Well so he thinks.
Darius Law states..."If it doesn't make money, it doesn't make sense!"
Darius Jones, the young entrepreneur of his very own company is looking to do big things. Stake a claim in the world with people saying Darius Jones name. Well you do have to earnestly work to reap the rewards.
Darius has serious issues with women. Stemmed from his hatred of his mother. He consistently reverts to the fact that had he known the truth about whom his biological father was his life would've been so much better. (Yeah instead of growing up with an BILLIONAIRE BUSINESSMAN for a father he would have had a BILLIONAIRE NBA PLAYER for a father) His apparent issues with women in power has him believing that every woman's position should be "literally" under him!
Now that Darius is the boss, can he control the new power that he has? The power of being in control has him searching for "the one" even though he believes he knows who she is. But Darius can't let the others suffer. Not with his powerful "SLUGGER!" What would the women do with out Darius Jones meeting all of their needs?
Watching as Darius bed hops, lies, steal, and cheat will have you flipping through the pages. All I can say is this boy is definitely his mother's child! OH yeah and kin is kin....
Rating: Summary: Here I Go Again! Mary Morrison is on TOP! Review: Yes, yes, Ms. Morrison laid out another sequel that kept me tuned in and begging for more. For the last few months, I have been on a roller coaster ride with reading Mary Morrison's titles, and Brenda Hampton's titles. Both have sequels that keep you entertained and Darius and Jaylin have a lot in common. Even though I'm drained from reading about these bad boys, I LOVE IT! I'd like to see these two authors put a story together where these two brothers meet. The only reason I gave this book four stars is because Jaylin's character has a slight bit edge over Darius. However, I'm crazy about them both. Keep'em coming, Mary, and I can't wait for your next title to be released!
