Summary: excellent love story
Review: I truely enjoyed reading this book. It wasnt your typical slave story or your every day romance. It was a unique combination of black history, old time love with a touch of modern day relationship blues. This story touched on many issues such as relationships, abandonment fostercare and many others. My favorite character was Ms Cozy. Her wit and charm was priceless. Oh how I wish for a bookstore like Black Images in my home town like the one in this book.

Summary: Need Redemption? Buy this book - - NOW!
Review: Once again, Dr. Bertice Berry has shown us that in order to understand the future, we gotta know the past.

This novel shows us that love can be right before us and in order to see it, we must understand ourselves totally and completely. What a story of history, love and compassion.

I could not put this book down until the very last page and even then, I wanted more...keep the story going Dr. Berry!

Summary: A truly satisfying book
Review: A wonderful book to read. This book contains 181 pages of joy, pain, sorrow and love. Two of the main characters, Ross and Fina, have what they believe is a coincidential meeting. They are in search of something, a book, which leads them to Miss Cozy's bookstore - Black Images. They both want the same book, which is not for sale, which then leads them on a journey. This journey is back in time, discovering their ancestors and connections of the past, and a journey into themselves - a quest for a vision - a vision that will give hope, love and a future.

The book recognizes how we are connected to our past and how we must each understand it, along with our purpose in life to have a productive life. The book further demonstrates how, culturally and historically, we have always taken care of the children, whether they were ours or not. From slavery up, the children were cared for, and that in order to succeed and have a future, we must return to caring for our children.

It is a powerful book about love, but not just love for self, love for our history, love for our people, love for our children and then relationship love.

Summary: Delightful
Review: Redemption Song is by far the best book I have read this year. I have laughed, I have cried, I have experienced a variety of emotions because of this book. As the mother of a 4-year-old and a college student it is hard for me to find the time to read, but with this book I couldn't put it down. The plight of Joe and Iona is like nothing I've ever read. I cry now just thinking of it again. This book is a must read. I couldn't put it down and I am recommending it to all my friends.
