Summary: OH HOW I LAUGHED
Review: this book is right up my alley, i love contemporary romance books. this book went even further than just plain romance and threw in some action/adventure too. you will not be bored, yellow dresses and hawaiian shirts, midgets and truth serum, knock out lipstick and feminine hygiene tracking devices abound. read the story to find out all about it.

Summary: Mostly boring
Review: This is the 4th Linsay Sands book I have read. On the basis of the first two: Single White Vampire and Love Bites, which I absolutely loved and which grabbed my attention from page one, those books put Ms.Sands at the top of my Favorite Authors list. However, after reading this and Always, I hope Ms. Sands sticks with the vampire comedy genre. I am so looking forward to more of the Family Argeneau series. I had looked forward to Loving Daylights but was very disappointed. It was just a little too light of a romp. It had no substance, too little romance, much too much descriptions of ... everything, especially the Goodinov house -- to the point of boredom. Frankly, I didn't find it all that funny either. It was amusing in parts and just plain silly in others. My body couldn't decide whether it should fall asleep or scream! It was definitely a book I could put down and take a breather from. I did like the truth serum though. Unfortunately these good scenes didn't come up until the last half of the book.

Summary: Great author!
Review: This is the second book I have read by this author and she has a solid fan now. The humor and the mental pictures her words create!! It's light reading and fun along with very sexy moments! Do not miss this author if you want to spend your time laughing and smiling. Very highly recommended.

Summary: Gadgets Galore
Review: This is the third of the B.L.I.S.S. spy spoofs and the second best (with From Boardwalk With Love being the best). Not as Bond-ish as the first, but way better than the second, this tale centers around Jane, youngest member of the spy-packed Spyrus (Spy-R-Us) family. But Jane is not a field Operative. Instead she works in development, creating the deadly and useful gadgets for the field agents.

But when her best friend disappears, Jane finds herself in the field armed with missile-launching vibrators, shrinking condoms and numerous other innocent-looking items as she and Abel Andretti must take on Dirk Ensecksi and plans to control the world.

This is a fun story with a good plot, interesting characters, gadgets galore, and a pretty good romance. However, unlike the first novel in the series, this one misses the mark on a lot of James Bond stuff. After all, this is supposed to be a parody of the lethal, jet-setting spy. No code numbers here. No casinos, exotic locations, or romantic suspense. But it is definitely a very fun book.

Summary: Watch GET SMART reruns instead.
Review: This wasn't the worst book I've ever read, but it comes close.
All the gadgets and spoofs that were (I assume) supposed to be cute just came off stupid to me. I would rather have watched a GET SMART rerun. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this book.

Summary: Funny Bond take-off
Review: While belonging firmly in the Romance genre, this series is a take-off of the Bond books, and here we have the absent minded professor type, who designs and tests a variety of gadgets, including the tampon trackers, shrink-wrap condoms (ow!) and vibrator missiles. Seems clear what Jane Spyrus' (Spies R Us?) mind has been on.

But the tampon tracker is being tested in a most immediate manner when Jane's neighbour and almost-friend Edie (if Jane had time for friends) goes missing. Cue for one gorgeous brother to show up, and Jane, her retired spy gran and Abel to climb into Jane's specialised van and zoom off to save the girl.

Realisim flies out the window here, this book is strictly fun. But romance with a comic touch is a Lynsay Sands speciality, and this is a great example. There are plenty of laughs - I particularly enjoyed the prototype demonstration - and some great gadgets. The evil kidnappers are a good threat for Jane, Abel and Gran to go up against. I didn't always agree with the handling of the romance between Jane and Abel - particularly the sojourn to a B&B which was a bit clumsy as a 'time out for sex' moment - but overall I found this book to be a wonderfully wacky comic story.
