Summary: I read this in 1985
Review: I read this book while vacationing in Spain. I was teaching in Germany at the time and my sister had sent me the copy from the U.S. I remember it as a very good and lusty story. I am going to go back and read this again.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: So Good I've Read It Many Times !
Review: Risen Glory is not your predictable romance. Full of wonderful twists mixed into a terriffic storyline to keep you riveted ! The characters are really interesting and if it doesn't make you cry, you're heartless. Don't start this book on your lunch hour, because you won't go back to work... One of SEP best. I sincerely reccomend you should read it! Don't take my word for it......

Summary: Phillips' first solo novel from 1984
Review: The Civil War is over for the rest of the country, but not for Kit Weston. She's come to New York City disguised as a boy to get revenge. Baron Cain stands between her and Risen Glory, the South Carolina home she loves. Unfortunately for Kit, Baron isn't just her bitter enemy, he's been appointed her guardian.

Kit is an extremely strong heroine, but Baron is more than a match for her. If you love historicals where the heroine is disguised as a boy (I do!), and the hero and heroine are each other's natural antagonists, where the action never stops, the story is fast-paced, and the sexual tension burns, you will really enjoy this book--it has it all!

By the way, in case you don't have (dollar amount) to buy a rare, tattered, 1984 version of this book, you might want to check out JUST IMAGINE, Phillips' September, 2001 revised edition of RISEN GLORY.

Summary: Enjoyable, but rough.
Review: This is one of Susan E. Phillips first books. It reads like most books that were written in the early 80's. Lot's of bodice ripping and not much compassion. It is set soon after the civil war about a southern plantation and it's two inheritors who clash wills with each other througout the entire book. If I were you I'd pass on this one, but make sure to read all the rest of her novels.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not my cup of tea
Review: Well I actually found this one by way of Bookstore Junkies and it was only $4.00. It wasn't worth the wait of over 3 years to find, this is just my opinion. It would have probably appealed to me more if I had read it back in 1985 but it was rather frustrating at times, the heroine and the hero kept doing some things that at times were very nerve wracking. I know that SEP changed some things in it for the new one "Just Imagine" and I'm hoping that it actually is better than the orignal.
