Rating: Summary: Perfect Choice Review: Let me just say this, There was nothing I didn't like about this book. There is nothing I would change. It was simply one of the best romance books that I have ever read. Excellent Excellent read.
Rating: Summary: love+passion+island magic= Great Romance! Review: Perfect Sin, Kat Martin's latest book, is one of the best she's ever written. Rand Clayton, the Duke of Beldon, immediately falls in love upon hearing the sensual, feminine laughter of a stunning American redhead at a glamorous ball. Her name is Caitlin Harmon and she is the devoted daughter of Professor Harmon, an archaeologist who's spent most of his life searching for the most valuable and elusive ancient treausre of that time: Cleopatra's necklace. It turns out that Caitlin and her father are in England to seek patrons to finance their journey to the exotic but hostlie Santo Amaro Island off the coast of Africa, where the necklace is rumored to be buried. This book is excellent. The passion ALWAYS burns hot and heavy between Cait and Rand. Their love and powerful attraction towards one another keeps the story flowing smoothly and makes their characters come to life. The sultry backdrop of the exotic Santo Amaro island is also a refreshing new setting where Cait and Rand are able to test the limits of their passion. However, Perfect Sin has a couple of extremely sad and disturbing moments that are not evident in other Kat Martin books, but Cait and Rand always manage to keep hope alive with their awesome romance and love. This romance was so well written that I found myself absolutely captivated with the man Rand becomes towards the end of the book. Every woman who reads this would fall completely in love with Rand, especially after what happens on the island under the "X" trees. Want to know what happens next? Buy the book and find out! I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Not as good as some of her earlier books... Review: Randall Clayton, the Duke of Beldon falls for Cait Harmon. When she becomes pregnant he is forced to marry her. He can't admit how deeply he cares for her so when she loses their child he rekindles an old affair with his ex-mistress. He soon comes to his senses and realizes that he truly loves his "Caitie" but it is too late. She has discovered him with his mistress and leaves him. She joins her father in Africa where he is searching for a lost necklace. Rand quickly realizes just what his inability to admit his feelings has cost him and journey's to Africa to try and convince Cait to give him another chance. But he realizes that it's not as easy as that....love isn't the problem..trust is. Can he ever get Cait to trust him enough to restart their marriage? I have always loved Kat Martin's historical romances but her last two(including this one) have left a little to be desired. Although I like Rand and Cait and the story sucks you in, I had a problem with the infidelity storyline. I like a story that makes you feel good but the affair left me feeling disappointed. I also felt like Ms. Martin wrapped up the book to easy. I was left feeling as if things ended too quickly and easily. I am hoping her next book will be more like her older romances such as Gypsy Lord(great one!)
Rating: Summary: Engaging Review: The back description of this book didn't actually draw me in. An American Adventurer for a heroine didn't sound appealing to me but I was captivated by Randall, Duke of Beldon in WICKED PROMISE. I was very glad to know he has a story of his own, so this is the real reason why I got this book. Good decision, I say... Not only is the plot engaging, Rand and Caitlin's love story was a heart warming one. I was surprise to specially enjoy Caitlin's character because of my clouded first impression of her as an American Adventurer. I actually like her dependency, her intelligence, her devotion to her father and her work. I also love the way she reacts to Randall. She is in innocently in love with him yet she never losses her pride. Randall's character was consistent in WICKED PROMISE. He's handsome, nonchalant and a rake. He's determined, a man of his word, loyal and now, confusingly in love with Caitlin. For me, their love story was full of passion and tenderness despite some heart tearing moments. I didn't like the infidelity part either but I guess this is what made the book more drawing. It hurts to read about it but the mollification that follows was also overwhelming. The Island setting and the search for Cleopatra's necklace was a new and interesting plot for me. I wondered about it even after the story ended. It piqued my curiosity to do some searching about Cleopatra and her Jewels. So, if a book can toy with me this way even after it ends, I say it's truly a worthy read. The reason why I didn't rate this book a five stars is cuz of the inadequate ending. I find it a bit lacking. I was hoping to read Caitlin and Randall with their offspring(s). There was no Epilogue or mentioned of it. Considering that unhappy past, I thought it was significant for Ms. Martin to write about their offspring(s) to make up for that one sad moment. This would have heighten readers spirit, my spirit. Well, this is only my self-preferences. Overall, this book is engaging and a worthy read especially if you have read the prequel, WICKED PROMISE. It was lovely to see Nick & Elizabeth, Maggie & Alex again...

Rating: Summary: No mistresses please! Review: The book was great but for the mistress part. It was uncalled for the characters stood on their own.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful book from a favorite author Review: This book has it all--romance, adventure, intrigue and a fabulous setting. I like all Kat Martin's books, and this one had that special "edge" of being a real page-turner in addition to being a great romance. Rand is truly sexy. Excellent!
