Review: After her second husband was hung for treason, Lady Edlyn and her two sons were cast out of their home with little more than the clothes on the backs. Having nowhere else to go, they seek shelter at the convent she had financially assisted.

Edlyn, a skilled herbalist, now treats the battle wounds of the men the nuns nurse back to health. But on one of her trips to the dispensary, Edlyn discovers a critically injured knight, accompanied by his manservant who insists she tend his master's wounds in secret. She remembers the knight as Hugh de Florisoun, the love of her girlhood. A lot has happened to Edlyn since then at the hands of men, and she has become cynical regarding their capacity for love and honor. She brings Hugh back from the brink of death with her healing skills, and the declaration of her past love. Hugh, who has just been made an earl and given an estate by the prince, wishes to repay his debt to her by insisting they marry. Reluctantly, Edlyn becomes his bride, and agrees to run his household and submit to his passion, but withholds her heart. Hugh has never backed down nor lost a battle, and he's determined to emerge the victor in this also.

This is the sequel to ONCE A KNIGHT where we were first introduced to Lady Edlyn and Hugh de Florisoun. While this isn't one of my favorites by Ms. Dodd, it was still a very good story and definitely worth the read. The humor in this book was wonderful. My favorite scene was when Hugh found Edlyn after she had been kidnapped shortly after their marriage. I still laugh when I think about it. The secondary character of Richard also added some good moments as well.

I think my only two complaints would be Edlyn came across as being rather cold to me, which was understandable considering her history. However, it seemed like it took forever for her to realize and admit her love for Hugh, even to herself. And at the end, she still seemed a little too reserved. The other problem was even though I did believe they had fallen in love, I didn't feel the intensity of their passion for each other, at least not as strong as I have in most of Ms. Dodd's other novels. Again, that may relate back to my feeling Edlyn was too reserved for too long. But despite those couple of issues, this story still deserves a four star rating, and I would definitely recommend it.

Summary: Absolutely Loved It
Review: I am almost never disappointed in a story by Christina Dodd and A Knight To Remember is no exception. The hero is pigheaded and chauvinistic, but in an endearing lovable way. The heroine is very typical of Christina Dodd's heroines. Intelligent, stubborn, practical and strong.

After being thrown from her home with her two children thanks to her deceased husbands treasonous activities, Lady Edlyn makes her was as an herbalist with a convent. Her world is thrown into chaos when a man holds a knife at her throat demanding she help his injured lord. That injured lord turns out to be a childhood companion she was in love with, Hugh. She saves his life, and in return he forces marriage on her so he can take care of her and her children.

Edlyn is furious at him declaring her fate for her. She has reservations about him because he is a warrior living a life filled with danger, and she keeps a distance from because of this. A Knight To Remember is a wonderful story, and it accurately describes how difficult it was for women during this time in history.

Summary: Excellent Read
Review: I usually enjoy Christina Dodd's books and this one was no exception. Edlyn is a twice-widowed woman who is living in poverty at an abbey as an herbalist. She is strong, compassionate and disillusioned, the only thing she still owns is her pride. Hugh, is a strong, honorable and brave knight commanding the kings royal warriors. Edlyn and Hugh recognize each other from their childhood days and Edlyn had thought she had long since buried her tender feelings for Hugh. Their reunion, though, is not a particularly loving one. Hugh was wounded in battle and lays close to dying, Edlyn is coerced into tending him by his manservant. Later, Edlyn find out that Hugh is the lord who captured her second husband and brought him to justice. Her late husband was executed for treason to the crown and her and her kids were kicked out of their home, destitute. Hugh is a bit arrogant and chauvinistic - in a lovable kind of way - but he does comes around later on in the book and sees the error of his ways. They make for a strong couple who complement each other. I loved that Edlyn's character was intelligent and proud, she came up with great ways to save them from trouble. She may not have much in the way of material things but she more than makes up for in character. No sappy, whiney heroine here. I think you'll appreciate that for a change - I did.

Review: I'll be on the lookout for more of Christina Dodd's work. This was consistently interesting and did not drag or descend into silliness. Nice strong women and men.

Review: My first book by this author and I picked it up on a whim. Boy am I glad I did! Unbelievably awesome is all I can say to describe this heartfelt book filled with adventure and pure heart-stopping romance, the kind that makes your toes curl and sigh...

She goes into her place that she finds solice in, her herbal 'kitchen', and is shocked when a man holds a dagger to her throat demanding she tend to a fallen knight he has hidden in her room!

Edlyn is in for a surprise when she discovers who the wounded knight is, her long ago love she has not seen in years! She saves his life but now the warrior wants to 'save' her. Save her from a life of charity and drugery, but she will not hear of it!

Hugh de Florisoun hasn't forgotten the love Edlyn bore him so long ago nor has he forgotten how he loved her from afar. How had she been reduced to this life? A Lady? A noblewoman of high breeding? The answer comes to him and he knows he must hide a deep secret that will turn her against him forever. For he had something to do with her misery...will his love render past mistakes and past grudges absent or will it make them worse?

Filled with battles and knights and the politics of war in Medieval England-1265, this touching story of treason, lies, deception and love is just what makes it a classic now on my keeper shelf. Hugh is a true knight in shining armor and the things he does for Edlyn will make you sigh and your heart to skip a beat...he must heal her broken heart and replace her fear and hatred of men with his undying love...true chivalry.

Completely unbelieveable and a sure keeper! I loved this book as much as Judith McNaught's tale "Kingdom of Dreams", and I never thought any book written in this time period would turn my head exceptionally as that one did, but I stand corrected. "A Knight to Remember" is fantastic and Hugh is definately going to make you remember him long after the book is closed...

Summary: Way to long to be anything but boring
Review: This book was way to long. It could have ended a long time before it actually did and would have been a perfectly good book. It was a strugle to finish with Hugh being such a pigheaded man. The way he treated Edlyn, like a possession, was totally uncalled for. Normally, I don't get all "hot and bothered" about the way men treat woman in these books because they usually come around in the end. But at the end of this book, I was not so sure that Hugh really did come around or if Edlyn just gave up. I found this book lacking with Ms. Dodd's usual storytelling abilities. This book just didn't grab me and wrap me in the way her other books did.
