Summary: Not As Good as To Love and to Honor!
Review: I liked Avon's other book of short story romances, To Love and to Honor but To Have and to Hold was disappointing and the romances were lacking. The story The Spinster Bride by Jane Bonander had it's moments and I think it could have been a lot better, the hero Sage and the heroine Kate seemed like a bad match, all they did was fight and I found there suddenly being so in love a little hard to swallow and Kate's psychotic niece Brynna and the things she did made the story really unpleasant. The best story was probably The man from Wolf Creek by Joan Johnston but I found the hero Cale Landry to be a little too much of a brute and I didn't like how he treated the heroine Raven Schuyler as though she was his property and the deal he made with her obnoxious, father Orrin. I felt really sorry for Schuyler for having such a terrible father and a tough life. And though I know hunting for food was a necessary thing especially in the olden days I could have done without the graphic descriptions of skinning and gutting beavers, rabbits etc and I thought there was just too much descriptions about stuff like that and not enough romance.
