Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Shield's Lady
Review: I have read and re-read this book so many times I have to tell everyone that this is just so great that I wish the author would write several sequel stories! Please Jayne - even just one more?

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Should have moved on!
Review: I have to admit, I was disappointed. Granted, this is a reprint of a 10 year old book, but it should have stayed there in memory. I did not read many romances then as most of them seemed to involve women who were "pounced on" (marginally acceptable) or raped (completely unacceptable)and the rest of the book telling you why it is OK 'cause they "were meant for each other." No way! I gave it 3 stars as this book has some redeeming factors and the hero isn't as bad as some. The heroine is childish, but improves. I prefer Jayne's newer stuff.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Engaging characters and believable location.
Review: I really enjoyed this book. The characters were funny and as in all of Ms. Krentz's books, the female lead was not a wimp. I found both the science fiction facet and the romantic side of the story facinating. I hope that it is not the only story of its kind. I really am quite curious what type of trouble the first female shield gets into. Please pass on my thanks to Ms Krentz for all of her books. I have enjoyed many, many hours lost in her characters lives

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Originally wrote by Krentz as Amanda Glass
Review: Shield's Lady is one of the all time great futuristic romance novels. The concept of an alien race within a race (Shields) is terrific. Krentz wrote this book about 10 years ago under the name Amanda Glass. At the time it was groundbreaking. I think I've read this book about 20 times. As another reviewer stated, I would LOVE to read more about the Shields, and especially the daughter of the couple in this book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Futuristic Adventure and Romance
Review: This book combines the "road trip" adventure of "Sweet Starfire" (still JAK's best futuristic) and the battle between the sexes element of "Crystal Flame."

JAK makes it possible to believe that these characters are destined to be together. She picks characters who are great together because they're different in all the right ways and alike in other ways. In the hands of another author, the concept of the "Shield" might have been silly, but JAK makes it work.

I wish JAK would write more romances set in the far future, like this one, instead of her more recent futurstic series. People like _these_ books more.
