Summary: A good read, but not as good as I thought it would be
Review: Based on the back cover copy and on previous reviews, I was eagerly looking forward to spending a rainy Saturday afternoon curled up in a loveseat by the window reading this novel. Alas, it was good, but still missing something that would have made it great. Maybe there was not enough "chemistry" between Laura and Jake (after two years of marriage nothing had happened???), or maybe the bad guys (and gals) were too schematic for my taste. I recommend it, but do not expect it to be a mind-blowing experience!

Review: Count this as just another 5-star review for Vicki Hinzey's new book! I met the author at a national writer's convention and was enthralled by what she had to say. I came straight home and ordered her entire backlist. I'd say I saved the best for last, but I have 3 more Hinzey books to read and I'm stopping only long enough to post this review. I love her intricacies, deeply emotional characters, rollercoaster suspense, and complicated plots. For a sophisticated reader, this book is a must have.

Summary: Very good book with a bit of everything!
Review: I decided on this book after reading the good reviews other readers left. That was a smart move on my part. I loved this book. Ms. Hinze did a first rate job with her portrayal of a military wife's duty and other aspects of military life. I can't say enough about how good a read I found this book. There is a bit of everything in this book; romance, mystery and suspense. I'm very much looking forward to future books by Vicki Hinze.

Summary: Poorly written
Review: I don't like to pan books, but this is poorly written with an unbelievable romantic premise. How could two healthy adults not notice that they were attracted to each other after several years? The worst part of the book was the poor writing. The author needed to "show" more and "tell" less.
