Summary: Too many questions left unanswered
Review: I eagerly looked forward to this last book of the series. At last the family would be reunited with their missing son. But there were a lot of threads dropped that left me feeling very dissatisfied. In the previous books, the sisters didn't want to tell their parents they were looking for their missing brother so they could suprise their parents at the 20th Anniversary Celebration of their father's coronation. Yet in this book, both the parents know about their daughters' search. There is one scene with the hero and his father, but we never see the reunion between mother and son! Also, the author brings in the sisters from the previous books, then has their reunions take place off stage. The power and drama of this series came from the expectation of a tearful reunion with the family. The author disappoints in this respect. The only reason I bought every book was in anticipation of the parents' surprise when they were reunited with their son at the 20th Anniversary Ceremony. One wonders if this author read any of the previous books in the series herself.

Summary: Poorly Constructed-Felt Cheated
Review: I now know that they don't coordinate these series beforehand. Having the authors write books in a series independently and apparantly simoultaneously is a big rip off. Hope the publishers read these reviews and change this practice.

Summary: Too many questions left unanswered
Review: My expectations were set high by the prior books in the series. Unfortunately, this book did not meet my expectations. Too many details were left outstanding. Why bring the infant into the story? Why no discussion of the affect of his prior occupation? Although we know that he moves back to the kingdom, does he assume his title or will it pass to his son? This book needed closure!

Summary: Poorly Constructed-Felt Cheated
Review: My family and I anticipated the conclusion of this series. Even though the previous book was a disappointment, there was still hope! Let me tell you that the first 36 pages of the book killed that hope right quick! Only one out of the three readers in this house made it to the end of the book (and she cheats!). I agree with all the previous reviews although I believe that some were too nice. The book left me with two burning questions: 1. It's obvious the author didn't read any of the previous books, but isn't there anyone who has oversight over the entire series?(I say let's line 'em all up!) 2. What's the best way to get this book out of my house? I find it almost impossible to throw a book into the trash, but, in this case, it would be morally reprehensible to perpetuate it on the used book shelves. BEWARE! (And by the way, that one star wasn't my idea.)

Summary: Don't Bother
Review: Some of the earlier books in this series weren't bad. The same can't be said of this book. It was a stupid story, badly told.

Summary: Lost Prince Letdown
Review: This fifth volume in the "Royally Wed" series confirms that John Colton is indeed Prince James Wyndham of Wynborough. This fact is revealed after the reader wades through two chapters of fairly uninspired "cowboy-meets-girl-in-bar-and-saves-her-from-assault-then-takes-her-to- seedy-motel-for-sex" story line. Laura Bishop (the woman he picks up in the bar, who turns out to be secretary to John's four princess sisters) wants to "find her rainbow." How . . . sweet. Most of the rest of the writing is equally saccharine, with a few fun pieces of dialogue thrown in.

You need to read this book to finish the story of the Wyndhams, but you'll be left with a lot of questions. Why bother to use "mercenary" in the title, and then include no real discussion of John's occupation and how it has affected him? Why build us up with four books about his sisters and then not use them effectively to advance the plot in this book? Why include his illegitimate infant son in the story, and never discuss how the Wyndham succession will affect the child? Why tell us that John has decided where to live and what name to use, but not tell us whether he decided to serve as the next monarch (you know, the "monarch" part of the title)? Why, for Pete's sake, would Laura be the one to call King Phillip and tell him his long-lost son had been found? The princesses would logically have done that, based on what we learned in the first four books. We are left to wonder if Ms. Pickart was given the first four books to read before she started on her manuscript.

Summary: Love Concers All
Review: This was a good conclution to the Wyndham search for the long lost prince. John Colton thought he didn't need anybodies help with his son. And Laura Bishop though John was being pigheaded and selfish thinking he didn't need any ones help. But he learns that was all he needed. Help rasing his son and help figuring out who he was. And where he belonged. Very go read.:)
