Rating: Summary: Love Really Can Overcome Anything Review: Okay, I'm going to become sappy, so anyone who can't stand that - scroll past my review now! :) I thought this book was incredible. No other words can express it. I finished reading this book this morning on my train ride to work. Dominic was an amazing character. He had an unhappy childhood, he was the unwanted bastard of a selfish English earl who was only legitimitized because the earl had no other heir. Dominic was half Gypsy, half English and was not accepted by either. Too Gypsy for the English, too English for the Gypsies. Olivia was sweet, devoted, even-tempered and kind. Her mother had long since died, her father had been murdered by a gypsy and her sister was blind, therefore Olivia was the sole provider for the two of them. She was hesitant to trust in Dominic, he was half Gypsy afterall. Dominic's charms soon won her over. Her sister's story of blindness and overcoming her own trepidation where Gypsies are concerned made a great side story. Dominic was by far my favorite character in the book though. Emotionally, he had suffered greatly in his life and yet he was not jaded or bitter and did not seek to condemn all people for his ill treatment. Although no one treated him kindly, he never sunk to their level. He had true class and he just strenghtened my opinion of love overcoming hate. Strength of the heart overcoming ignorance of the mind. It was amazing how all the characters eventually gave up their groundless hatred against a whole race of people because of these 2 characters. Proving that prejudice is only skin deep - no one is born hating and you must just open your mind and heart in order to see that. A wonderful book and I recommend it to anyone who wants to believe in love and fate and the inherent goodness in others. Enjoy!

Rating: Summary: Fantastic! Review: ONE MOONLIT NIGHT was truly a wonderful story. Dominic St. Bride was no macho hero, instead, much to the villager's surprise he was kind and gentle man. Though he does have some bitterness to overcome. Samantha James did a wonderful job of creating this love story. When most people think of prejudice they think of African-American or Asians, not once might it cross their minds to think of Gypsies. Ms. James weaves in the prejudicial element of the story like the master of the genre she is. Olivia and her blind sister Emily, along with all the villagers, have to deal with their prejudice against Gypsies. Another wonderful element of the story is Emily's romance affair with a Gypsy named Andre. Because she is blind she has no idea that Andre is a gypsy, it is only after she regains her sight that to her horror she finds out the truth. This secondary love story is one of the best developed I have ever read. This book is a true treasure and I recommend that all should read it. You might learn a thing or two.
Rating: Summary: One Moonlit Night Review: Outstanding. I have read only 2 of Samantha James books and I found the first one by mistake. Since then, I have gone and purchased 3 more. It was only three that I could find. Outstanding writer. She kept me reading well into the night. To me, that is a good book, when you can't put it down.

Rating: Summary: Wonderful and refreshing Review: This book was wonderful. It restores my faith in humankind, even though it is only in a book. To see people change their minds about their beliefs that were held for such a long time. Olivia is such a devoted sister, almost too devoted. She almost looses her chance at happiness to protect her sister, who it turns out needs no protecting. An interesting side story is the story of her sister and how she becomes blind and then regains her sight. All in all, it was a very good book and I highly recommend it.

Rating: Summary: A Truly Romantic Story Review: This is one of my favorite romance novels to date. This was the first Samantha James book that I have read and it will not be my last! Olivia and Dominic were well developed as indivduals and together they had fantastic chemistry. I dislike weak female heroines and really dislike overbearing male heros. Olivia had a quite strenght and it showed in her ability to live a hopeful life after suffering so much sorrow. Dominic being 1/2 gypsy and treated so cruelly by his father and society desperately wanted love even though he didn't know it until he met Olivia. Minor intrigues added to the story as well as Olivias sister Emily's romance with Andre didn't distract from the main story.
The love scenes between Dominic and Olivia had just the right amount of romance and sensuality. Sizzle without being crude.
This book is a keeper for my library.
Rating: Summary: wonderfully touching Review: This is the story of a vicar's daughter, Olivia, who is forced by fate to work for the new Earl of Ravenwood, the half Gypsy, Dominic. Olivia and dominic first meet by accident, literally, on a moonlite night, hence the title. They are attracted to each other right off the bat, but Olivia has strong feelings of scorn for what she believes Gypsies to be. He father was killed by a Gypsy so this fuels the fire of distrust. Dominic has always been an outsider. Not fitting in with the Gypsies and not with the English. He struggles with discrimination at every turn. Olivia comes to realize that her distrust is misplaced and soon seeks to comfort Dominic. All the while this is going on Olivia's blind sister Emily is being courted by Andre. He is a Gypsy but is afraid to reveal it to Emily because he doesn't want to hurt her. They fall in love but have some big obstacles to overcome. Both of these love stories were touching and I really enjoyed this book. I read it in one day and I hated when I had to put it down. I really enjoy Samantha James's books and will be sure to get more of her books.
Rating: Summary: One Boring Night Review: This was the first book I read by Samantha James and I was very touched by it. The hero was sexy and kind to the people, despite their wariness of him. The way she represented the village people's prejudice was very accurate and I felt for Dominic. She portrayed him as a man who feels just like anyone else, despite his stern exterior. The electricity between him and Olivia was extremely good, but I also liked the tenderness between them as well. I liked the way the author gradually began to wear away the heroine's prejudice and the secondary love story with the heroine's sister was good, too. I'm hoping there will be a sequel.
