Summary: Steamy as a soap opera and just as melodramatic
Review: Dickey does know how to keep the pages turning and I give him full credit for ambition in his latest novel. But his dialogue is so overblown, so melodramatic, it stops the book dead in its tracks. Hardly a page went by when I didn't shake my head at a line that no human being would ever utter except on the most trite and melodramatic soap opera. Dickey attempts to lend weight to his characters' observations by couching them in pseudospiritual purple prose, but it's just jarringly inappropriate language.

I think the previous reader reviews illustrate an important point. They all rave about how much Dickey fans will enjoy this book. No doubt they're right. Dickey delivers all the sex, attitude, and exuberance of his other books but with a touch more sophistication. If you can stomach his heavy-handedness, then you're already fan and will love his latest. But this one is not going to win any new converts. I would like to see what Dickey could produce if he set his mind to write a serious novel, because I can see he's sharp and intelligent, but I can't say I'll be interested in reading any more of these daytime dramas sandwiched between book covers.

Summary: Thumbs up on "Cheaters" from the Black Book Network!
Review: You may feel a little guilty in the beginning -- "Cheaters" certainly oozes with sexuality and the thrill of forbidden fruit. But, this engaging novel has a lot more to offer. You'll be seduced by the plot and lured into every single page.

Summary: have not read "Cheaters" yet , can't wait
Review: Eric Jerome Dickey is the best author ever. I can't put his books down. I'm so excited about "Cheaters", can't wait to read it. I can't decide which book I like best, they are all great. Eric, keep up the excellent work.

Summary: NEVER THOUGHT A TITLE LIKE CHEATERS COULD TASTE SO GOOD
Review: EJD fans! Get ready! Our talented, witty, and outlandish brother is back to his old tricks with Cheaters. I proclaim Eric Jerome Dickey the king of metaphors. He has a zillion laugh-out-loud one-liners, just outrageous material in this book. You're gonna love this story. I wasn't sure at first because of the title. I thought, "Is Eric making a mockery of cheating?" The answer is no. The brother is writing a story -- a very engaging story at that. Cheaters is a very formidable piece of work that WILL BE categorized among Eric's best. His voice is unapologetically plainspoken. He does an incredibly fantastic job developing these characters - and believe it or not - they are LIKEABLE characters and you'll be all into their individuals lives and stories. To me he writes novels like he's writing a movie and you will be able to visualize and plant yourself in every scene. His writing is so superb it's spooky (in a good way). I am so very proud of EJD, can't say enough about him, and to be honest, I probably get on his last nerve, but I really do not care because to me, Eric Jerome Dickey is the GREATEST!!! He'll go down in literary history. You heard it here first. :-)

Review: I didn't think anything would beat Sister, Sister for me, but Cheaters is the book! This one was page-turner and had me up at night reading, when I was supposed to be asleep. Great job, Eric. Your fans will LOVE this one.

Summary: thanks!
Review: Thanks for the shout outs and support from "Sister, Sister" to the present. And thanks trekking through this cyber-wormhole and chillin' out at my little DS9. (Hmmm...if only I could think of a Voyager and Next Generation reference..)

I love to read the reviews -- well, most of 'em. LOL. Whether you like the book or not (that's on you) On posting your review/comments PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE (my James Brown impersonation -- get my cape, I'm ready to roll) follow amazon's guidelines and don't reveal any key plot points or twists. That spoils it for the rest of the readers who haven't picked up the book yet. (If you're new to this, please don't hesitate to check out amazon's sample reviews before you post) And it's kinda cool when I read the reviews (on my page or anyone else's page) that actually have something to do with the book at hand, instead of all the comparisons to other peeps with books. (inhale, exhale, now focus...much better)

So much baggage, so few baggage handlers.

Summary: I have not read this book yet.
Review: It is always interesting to read the different reactions that Mr. Dickey's stories evoke. However, since there will always be people, like myself, who haven't yet gotten ahold of the book and read it, I would just like to ask that readers not give away the ending or key events of the story in their reviews. It spoils the fun for the potential purchasers who want to experience the same amount of surprise that you did when you first read the book. Thanks.

Summary: WOW!!!!! What a story!
Review: Well, EJD has done it again! In Cheaters, Mr. Dickey has done a fine job at creating his characters and intertwining their lives together. In this latest work of fiction, you will find MUCH drama, to say the least, from cheating and lying, to hot and steamy sex scenes. Let's not forget Jake and his nightmares. These are stories in themselves...

Cheaters has so much variety from back stabbing to front stabbing and whatever else you can think of that happens when you cheat.

For you EDJ fans out there, you will be pleasantly surprised and very entertained.

And for Mr, Dickey, your work in Cheaters will show your readers, your extensive literary skills and ability to create GOOD FICTION! So...........what's next
