Rating: Summary: Great Book...I could hardly put it down Review: I just got finished reading "Cheaters" today and I am sad that the book ended. This book was attached to my hip for 2 weeks. Every chance I got, I would pick it up and read it. At work, I'd sneak it from out of my purse and put it in the middle of some work papers and act as if I was reading work material. I love the way Eric could write from a woman and a man's view. The characters felt very real and I also really related to the book because I grew up in the area where the characters were from and I could identify with the places that they went to. For instance, the restaurant-club called "Shelly's." This book is definitely a must read. After work, I went to the mall and picked up the book,"Sister, Sister." After "Cheaters,", I knew I had to run and pick up another one of his books!!!
Rating: Summary: Loved IT! Review: This is the first book i've read by Eric Jerome Dickey and he has a new fan! I absolutely loved reading this book. I couldn't put it down. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of his books.
Rating: Summary: By Far, The Best Review: Eric Jerome Dickey did a wonderful job on Cheaters. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. His books discuss things that go on in many peoples lives. I've been a fan since Milk In My Coffee, Liar's Game, Friends and Lovers, and Thieve's Paradice. I highly recommmend this book to anyone who is in search of reading someone else's drama b/c Darnell, Tammy, Karen,Jake, and Chante are full of it.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious Review: This book is excellent. It grabs you from the first page all the way to the last and I was mad that the book ended. This is definately Mr. Dickeys best book that he's written. I've read all his books including his last "Thieve's Paradise" and none of his other books compare to this. Good JOB. One of the best books I've ever read.
Rating: Summary: Magnificant Book Review: So far of all the EJD books I have read, Cheaters is the best. From the beggining to the end, this book had me really into it. For all the people who would like to read this book, go ahead. You will be amazed by all the ups and downs these characters have, and the shockers.
Rating: Summary: Sex And The City Meets Waiting To Exhale Review: This was one fun book! I was flipping pages faster than I could absorb their words! This was a story of twenty-thirty-something-single-marrieds who are going through nothing more than life itself. Talk about reality! Whoa... I felt like I was living my anxiety ridden/exciting livin' single years over again. Chante and her girlfriends, Tammy and Karen along with Stephan and his buddies, Darnell and Jake, have an interesting story to tell. This story dips and dives into relationships among female friends, male friends, ex-lovers, lovers, wives, soon-to-be wives, mothers and fathers. In the end you will feel as if you are living in their world and will miss them all when the story ends. This is my first Eric Jerome Dickey novel... and it will NOT be my last!!
Rating: Summary: Five stars well deserved Review: It's hard for any writer to get 5 stars out of me. Eric Jerome Dickey has a rare talent for true literary entertainment. Looking at his picture on the cover, I find it hard to imagine that this young fellow is bestowed with so much wisdom into how we run our lives. I recommend you find out by reading this book. How is your love-life, lately? gerborguta
Rating: Summary: One of his best Review: This has to be one of the best of Eric Jerome Dickey's books. I first read Liar's Game(Another one of Dickey's best) first and then continued to read other books by this author. The only one that I have not read to date is Thieve's Paradise and I am awaiting that in the mail as I type. Cheaters has humor, sex, lies and love. All the things that have become expected of Dickey. This book leads a very intelligent plot into a great ending. I have much respect for Dickey for the works that he have produced in the past and I only hope that he continues to delight readers like myself.
Rating: Summary: Nothing is Perfect Review: I loved this book. This book had trust, distrust, loyalty, commitment, and everything else in a relationship. Stephan played a great character. He was raised in a home with no father until his step-father. His father was a cheater so he later had some of those "cheater" qualities. Toyomi played a great character. She was like a "ghetto queen". When it came to back stabbing and getting revenge she was your girl. I don't believe in adultery , but I loved the way Darnell cheated on his wife. His wife treated him [badly] and he just kinda got sucked into the "game". The way he left her at the end of the book was great. He said I leaving, and don't try to contact me.
Rating: Summary: Beware because cheaters do get caught in the end! Review: Captivating, Hilarious, Entertaining, Adventurous, Terrific, Expressive, Reflective, Satirical. That's right readers, the characters in "Cheaters" are all that and more. There life styles encompass a wide array. Stephan is indeed an adventurous guy, who has had his share of women. So much so, until he met his match with Toyomi. She appears a little too much for Stephan and he decides to take a serious look at his life and listen to his stepdad. Stephan finally realizes he does not want to follow in his father's footsteps of having two and three women at a time. Stephan decides that one is enough and finally opens his eyes to envision Chante'. Chante' has problems of her own and reflects back on her life. Although she is smart, educated, and had parents that traveled a lot and she traveled the globe, there is still something missing from her life. Chante' seeks to find solace in the arms of those she thinks she loves and loves her in return. Chante' has been rudely awaken when she discovers time after time that the man she has chosen is not the one. The family man is not for her. The fast talking lover boy who leaves her stranded on her birthday is not the one for her. The smart business man who forgets to erase his taped voice mail is not the one. Then she meets Stephan, who helps her out when she has car trouble. Can he be the one for Chante'? Time will tell. Jake, a man of dreams, is searching and trying to outrun his past. Life indeed is an adventure. Jake loves one woman, Charlotte, but thinks Charlotte is not up to par at this time in his life. Jake has to add a string of women on his pole as well as discuss what he thinks are Charlotte's faults to his friends. Needless does he realize what those words will cost him until it is too late -- the one true love of his life. Darnell, the faithful husband, or is he? Has Darnell been around the wrong company for too long? Darnell appears to be a serious, compassionate man until a new song comes into his heart. Will the song fade away or will the notes be played louder in his ears and upon his heart? Will Darnell remain true to his wife, Dawn, or will it be a new dawn for Darnell as he fly away to be with his songbird? Tammy, big, bold, beautiful, with a song on her lips and a melody in her heart. Tammy is entertaining. She is a true friend to Chante' and Karen. However, when Darnell enters into Tammy's life, all that's in her burst free and Tammy has a new song to sing. Karen, who tries to be so righteous, wakes up one day to find out that what she thought was right turned out to so wrong. Karen, is also looking for love, but stumbles over Chante's leavings in the form of Craig. "Cheaters" is a good book. It makes you want to read, read, and read to discover what happens.
