Rating: Summary: Very Entertaining Review: This book was very entertaining. The author has been very successful at developing at least one character in such a way that the reader can relate and have a sense of understandiing the character down to its core. In all of Mr. Dickey's books he has had the uncanny knack for making me feel that his characters are people that I know and love and work with everyday. For that reason and that reason alone, Mr. Dickey's books will always be read by me.This book in particular dealt with the issue of infidelity but it also dealt with the consequences of infidelity, as well as some explanations as to why people cheat. Without giving too much of the book away I wanted to say that I liked the explanation of why the men treat. Our children do indeed learn from us. Another character suffered from strange nightmares and Mr. Dickey gave an interesting explanation for the cause of the nightmares. All in all, a very good book.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining, but not as good as "Milk in my Coffee" Review: I found this book to be a quick read and I liked EJD's descriptions of the L.A. area, but I did not like this as much as "Milk in my Coffee." I thought it was a little too long and (this may sound odd) that there were too many overly detailed sex scenes. I wish EJD would have left a little more to the imagination. Sometimes less is more!
Rating: Summary: Cheater never prosper Review: Our book club Nubian Minds really enjoyed this read. We are located in San Diego CA and we are very familiar with the Los Angeles area. Jerome took a lot of time in researching and describing the Los Angeles area. Anyone who has ever traveled there can understand what we mean. At the begining of the book we thought that Jerome was a bit scattered with the character relationship, but as we continued to read we saw how he slowed it down and very systematically broke each character and each relationship down to paint the prefect picture of chaos. We have all lived alternative life styles before and we found ourselves reliving similar if not some of the same situations again through our reading. We could hardly put this novel down. We have shared many telephone conversations and hair dresser appointments over this book. We have also recommended this book to other readers: Cheaters and Non Cheaters alike. A big up to you Bru'
Rating: Summary: Exceptional Review: My man-friend and I read Cheaters together. We found ourselves fighting over who would get the book next and sneaking off to read more. I just couldn't get enough of it. I found cheaters very impressive. The flow was great and the characters were so realistic. I love the fact that a male wrote this book and it wasn't a one-sided perspective on male female relationships. I loved it so much, I plan to give a copy to several friends for Christmas. Congratulations on a job well-done, Eric!
Rating: Summary: A wonderful book Review: Yes I read Cheaters and I thought it was the best book I have read in a long time . The words just jump off the page and fall into your lap. I can actually relate to the characters in the book . This is the only book that has made me laugh and cry at the same time. Keep up the good work.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT READING ! Review: This book was truly a joy to read. Each page was filled with so much emotion and compassion. It was hard to believe that this was a work of fiction. I hated Chante ! I add plenty of notes to my mental roladex about how men truly think and feel. Looking forward to the next book.
Rating: Summary: boring Review: This was my first EJD experience, I must say..I was not that impressed. It started out slow, the characters were shallow, need I say more? I have MIMC and F&L I sure hope they are better than this one.
Rating: Summary: OK AY READ Review: I'M A BIG FAN OF ERIC JOROME DICKEY. I MUST SAY THAT I DIDN'T ENJOY THIS NOVEL AS MUCH AS I ENJOYED FRIENDS AND LOVERS, SISTER SISTER AND MILK IN MY COFFEE BUT I'M STILL A BIG FAN OF YOURS ERIC. YOU ARE ONE OF MY FAVORITE AUTHORS. I FOUND CHEATERS TO JUST SHOW HOW MEN AND WOMEN CHEAT ON EACH OTHER AND THE PAIN THAT COMES WITH THE CHEATING. I WILL SAY THAT THE CHARACTERS WERE WELL DEVELOPED AND THE FLOW OF THE BOOK WAS SMOOTH. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND BE BLESSED!
Rating: Summary: Fabulous! Review: The characters in this book were so real! Anyone who reads the book will be able to relate to at least one of the characters. Dickey kept me in suspense with the Dawn, Darnell, and Tammy triangle. I've been there, done that. It was good to see someone portray a man in a positive light. Not ALL men think with their "other leg". It was also a pleasure to see African Americans as professionals, not on Welfare. Kudos to Mr. Dickey. I look forward to his next masterpiece!
