Summary: I love it , I love it, I love it!
Review: If you have never read any of Eric Jerome Dickey's books, then this will be a great introduction to them, it's a MUST read. You will love it from the first page till the last. It is filled with with many hilarious moments and very real life situations. You will find yourself laughing out of your seat, so be careful of where you read it or people will look at you funny the way they did me. The characters are well developed and you can't help but get deep into their life story. I wasn't able to put the book down once I started to read it, and it was well worth the hours of sleep lost to finish it at 3am in the morning. Enjoy it it was worth every penny!

Summary: A shame
Review: As a recent undergraduate with a BA in Literature AND an African-American female AND aspiring author, it is sad to see that the "bestsellers" in the black communities only seem to be those books, such as this one, which perpetuate the myths that blacks think of nothing but screwing and having a good time. Whatever happened to REAL literature? Here's a suggestion to all of you young "urbanites" who think that work of this caliber--of the men-do-this-women-are-like-that design is real literature: try Toni Morrison or Alice Walker or, heaven forbid--Carter G. Woodson, a man who can AT THE VERY LEAST explain why you appreciate such shallow drivel that is beneath your mode of thinking AND portrays you in a negative light. You don't HAVE to gravitate towards a stereotypical prosaic genere that portrays blacks as oversexed and underlearned. For shame...

Summary: Everyday Heroes
Review: Ever since I read the first book, 'Sister, Sister', I can hardly wait for Eric's next book to come out. This is definetely a love/hate relationship for me. My time is very limited as it is, but when I finally dared to start reading 'Cheaters' it was just like with his other books: I could not put it down, decided to make due with a few hours of sleep just so I could maximize my reading time.

The characters in this book are realistic, personable, and there are a lot of Stephans, Chantes....out there among us. Their issues are issues about life many of us face on a daily basis with its ups and downs, expectations, limitations, and exhilarations. I can really relate, and often life is as strange as fiction. I can see myself asking some of the same questions and going through similar situations. It is evident that the author has a keen eye for those around him and the ability to express those observations.

Let me not forget the humor. Some real deadpan lines that cracked me up, even when the going got rough for my everyday heroes in Cheaters.

I like the slight connection between Cheaters and previous books. Unlike multi-volumes and sequels, where a good portion of the book is used to remind you of the prior works, here one or two sentences connect the characters and that is all that is really neccessary.

Also, I am a hopeless optimist, is that one of those oximoronic expressions? , and like an uplifting ending. I wasn't dissapointed.

Summary: Great Title
Review: As a big fan of EJD's work, I read this book a year ago and recently was reintroduced to it by a friend. I would just like to say that this book gives us a simple title and when people hear the word "Cheaters", a million negative things go through their minds. EJD brings some in depth thinking to cheating itself and helps us understand that people who may find themselves cheating are not all loose women and male dogs. Cheating can happen at any time and in any relationship, and the way he displays it in this book is wonderful. This book is a must for couples and singles to help them understand all sides of the coin.

Summary: Hurry up with the next one!
Review: This book was so good I've read it twice. He just gets better and better. There is something for everyone in all of Eric Jerome Dickey's books. I would find myself talking to the book, responding to what the characters were saying, getting all weepy with them and laughing out loud. Everytime I finish one of his books, I say, "That was the best one." Then the next one comes and that's my new favorite. Keep them coming!

Summary: Eric had done it again!
Review: Before I begin my review of this book I just want to say that Eric Jerome Dicekey is a wonderful, wonderful writer! I have never been disappointed!

Cheaters is a story of 4 people from L.A. (Stephen, Darnell, Jake and Chante) who cheat (all for different reasons, of course!) The main character Stephen is merely "playing the field." He wants to share his life with the right person when she comes along...but for now he's just enjoying the single life. Jake has a good relationship but doesn't see it yet. Darnell is married but not satisfied with his relationship. And Chante, like many women, is just tired of being played so she decides to do a little playing of her own. Eric has filled this story with so much juice its dripping from the pages! Juicy, Juicy, Juicy! This story as told thru the eyes of Stephan (mainly), Darnell and Chante is definately a page turner! I recommend it 100%!

Summary: A change from the normal boy meets girl story ... Recommend
Review: This is the second book by Eric's that I have read. I though it would be hard for him to follow up on his other book "Friends and Lovers", but I was wrong. This book kept me up reading late into the nights (which I hate). The characters are believable and very up with the modern times, but if you don't agree then I would like to take a quote from what the man said.... "It's only fiction ". So if you are looking for something good to read or something that is different from the normal boy meets girl story then this is for you.

Summary: Cheaters
Review: I love all of Eric's books, but Cheaters is the best. The characters were so real and down to earth, when I got to the end of the book, I just wanted more and more. The next day I went out and got me a tatoo of a butterfly on my right shoulder. I recommend this book to all my friends. July cannot get here fast enough for Liar Liar.

Summary: So Hot, I'm Still Fanning Myself!
Review: The book was THE BOMB! The charachters were well developed and believable. I felt like I knew Stephan and Chante and all of their freinds. It was also nice to see that Tyrel and Shelby were still together from "Friends and Lovers" (read it if you haven't). I too was late to work because I stayed up to 2 AM two nights in a row to finish the novel. I've already preordered the next book.
