Summary: ERIC'S THE MAN
Review: I love Eric's writing style. I don't care what he writes I just love the way he writes it. I even loved the authors note. But Cheaters was an excellent read. I felt all the characters. Even that no good Karen. And boy was I feeling Eric. I'm now a life long fan. If he wrote a phone book I'd read it.

Summary: Rated Among the Best!
Review: Cheaters by E. Jerome Dickey is nothing more than a coming of age soap opera brought together into a book. During a time when young people do not like to read and it is all about tv it is a relief to see I can read and feel as well as see the characters he creates rather than just view them.

Summary: Engrossing Page Turner
Review: "Cheaters" is the first book that I have read by Erick Jerome Dickey...but it will not be my last. It is a page turner that kept me up until 4am finishing the book. I have recently purchased Milk In My Coffee and Friends and Lovers. I recommend that if you are on the "shelf" about reading any of his works that you rush out immediately and purchase his entire collection.

Summary: Great Beach Book!
Review: This is the first book I've read by this author. I became totally wrapped up in the characters, and could not put the book down. It's a fast, fun, totally engrossing read. If you're looking to escape your life for a little while, this is the book to read!

Summary: A Book About Life
Review: Cheaters.... A wonderful book. I think that everyone, male and female should read this book. It puts you in the characters position. You actually feel the pain and excitement. Also, if you've ever experienced the bad side of a relationship and felt like a fool after the relationship ended ( as I have). This book lets you know that you are not alone, and that there are better and brighter days ahead!

Summary: A WONDERFUL READ
Review: Dickey has over done himself once again. This book is great. It keeps you reading and you do not want to put the book down. Cheaters is great. Chante' and Stephan keep you wondering what is up next. I am waiting to read his next literary masterpiece.

Summary: DO WE KNOW PEOPLE LIKE THIS?
Review: Of course we do! Lies, cheating and a whole lot of temptation. I really enjoyed this book. I truly hope one of our smart directors, pick up the movie rights for it. It was an easy read, and lots of laughter. You can easily relate to the characters. Think about it, all of us has ran across a Stephan, Chante, Karen or a Darnell sometime in our life journey. Great book! Check out The Divine Sisterhood Bookclub TV debute, when we review "Cheaters" on The Reading Club. Thanks again Eric.

Summary: EJD really knows how to portray 3-dimensional characters.
Review: Unfortunately, I didn't like any of the characters in the story. I searched for someone, anyone with whom to sympathize and/or identify, but I just felt extremely judgemental towards them all. Men and women lie, cheat, and steal throughout the book to the point that I felt a little depressed. And then upon completion, I came to the author's notes section where Dickety reveals that "the peeps in Cheaters are the folks that the characters in F&L (Friends and Lovers) wouldn't date." And neither would I, hopefully.

Several things bothered me. People were having sex w/ and w/o condoms. Stephen has a gonorhea scare, but does he visit his doctor? No. He immediately has sex w/ Chante. Darnell and Tammy rationalize their adulterous affair, despite Dawn's (Darnell's wife) pleading to work things out. She practically begs him. Jake is having some kind of Sixth Sense epiphany w/ the aborted children of past girlfriends. Karen sleeps w/ Chante's (her best friend) boyfriend.

I'm guessing that Chante and Stephen are the main characters. Chante goes through men like disposable tissue. Then beats up her friend for experiencing one of her leftovers. Stephen callously breaks hearts, sees the result, shrugs it off, and continues.

I suppose the fact that I viewed the characters as "real" causes me to forgive the fact that they are unlikable. One question: With all the screwing around, driving from one side of the city to the other, and nightclubbing, how do they put in a full day's work?

Summary: EDJ always keeps it real
Review: This book was excellent, nobody can do it like EDJ. I couldn't put the book down, the characters were so real. I've read all of his book and they keep getting better and better, I can't wait to read Liar's game. If you didn't pick up Cheaters, run to the book store and please support a brother.
