Rating: Summary: What's Love got to do with it!!!!!! Review: Kayla is my girl,Wil is a nut,Samir is a sweetheart and Yazmine and her family is off the hook. I liked this book because it kept it real and was a quick read. It captured my attention from the very beganinng with the basketball player, I was feeling him. ... Emar why you do that to my girl. Anyway this is an excellent read you will not put it down to the end. When is the next one coming out Ms. Poole?
Rating: Summary: Yo Yo Syndrome !!! Review: Kayla's search for Mr Right was a yo yo kind of love ! She was a young lady looking in all the wrong places for love of Mr Right! She certainly had a yo yo syndrome going on ! When she finally found him (if that was him )she did not recognize him . I am not sure if either were Mr Right ! I think she was more in love with the idea of being in love . You can't hurry love ! Kayla took me on her venture looking for love ! First you thought, is he the one then you could see he was not the one ! Then you'd think should she give Wil another chance , then you say he's not .... This was a very good read .I love the way Daaimah tells her story !! She makes it seems as if she's talking to you ! I will be anxiously awaiting her next story and I hope she continues because I do not think she is finished with this yo yo love syndrome ! I tell you that yo yo syndrome caused her to make some unwise decisions . I will admit I enjoyed her exhaling moment on Wil in the end !! It was not right but you go girl!!!! Yes we often think of doing things that she did from time to time ! Kayla had the nerves and guts to do ! If you are thinking about getting this book and have not decided? Do yourself a favor get it and read it now ! There was never a dull or slow moment . A story well told I rate this one with 4.5 stars !! Thanks for a story well told !
Rating: Summary: Hitting the Nail on the Head! Review: Ms. Poole hit the nail on the head with Yo Yo Love. Her ability to draw the reader into the story is remarkable. Kayla's character places a mirror before readers and forces them to recognize characteristics about themselves that may not always be favorable. The idea that a woman needs a man to feel whole was evident throughout the book; however, Ms. Poole masterfully moved the characters along to a more positive outcome. As a returning college student sidetracked by life I can say the fact that Kayla was determined to continue her education was important. The bottom line is from start to the finish the book was awesome. I look forward to the next one. T.C. Matthews, Prolific Writers Network
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down!! Review: I bought this book around 1 month ago. I started and didn't want to stop! I could relate to the story and the situation. I think almost everyone is or has a friend like Kayla. I won't tell the story but it's about a girl who finds the so called "perfect" boyfriend. He has the looks, the money, and he's sweet. Later on down the line she finds out the truth about him but she won't let him go easily. I recommend this book to anyone. Ms Poole keep up the great work, and I am looking forward to your next book.
Rating: Summary: FULL OF EXCITEMENT!!! Review: This book was fantastic. First of all it was fast paced and held my interest throughout the entire book. I DID NOT want to put it down. When I would put it down, I would try to figure out what was going to happen next. It was descriptive enough to make me feel like I was Kayla and I was dealing with Wil in real life. I actually had fun reading this. I laughed and cried. There were times when I wanted to choke Yazmine and other times I wanted to hug her and tell her how much I understood. Kayla is much younger than I am but I just hope that the females who read this book realize how important it is to get your education and not put all your focus on your love life. Yo Yo Love explained how many mistakes Kayla made trying to get and keep that "dream man." Sometimes those dreams can really mess you up. I think that if the younger generation (and some of the older) would pay attention to what Ms. Poole is saying, they'll one day thank her for that lesson.
Rating: Summary: Who needs love to be happy Review: In this book I think that Kayla really needs to check her self. She had a lot going for her. Then oh my god she met will--I knew that was to good to be true. She finds a man that was fine and spent money oh yeah there was a catch to that. All in all I think this book was the BOMB. When you go looking for love you look right over the one person that is right for you. Samier was the on that she should have been longing for.
Rating: Summary: kayla was a yo yo for real! Review: i read this book while i was riding the train to college, and i have to say, ms. poole kept me turning every page... kayla reminded me of myself, except she fed WAYYYY too much into the myth that every woman needs a man. she never gave herself time to heal or get over the last relationship before she moved right on to the next. the only thing i could really give kayla credit for is the fact that she was determined to stay in school...but i'm sad to say that was her only really redeeming quality...i believe this book was a testament to the many messed up sistas out there who think they need a man just to 'breathe'. i can't wait until my book comes out on the market, i plan on writing a story about the exact opposite, a black woman on the move who would like to, but doesn't have time to dwell on the fact that she wants a man... alas, every book has it's purpose, and ms. poole definitely served hers, by keeping me steadfastly turning the pages of her book when i would have otherwise been bored to death on Amtrak.
