Summary: Meet Miss. Kayla Johnson
Review: Looking into life through the eyes of young, sexy, and independent Kayla Simone Johnson is not only funny, but also keeps you intrested in what she has to say or what she is going to do next. Kayla is a college student at Temple University in Phildaelphia majoring in Secondary English. As Kayla confronts situations and conflicts with family, friends, and men, she proves to have her head on right and to be traveling in the right directions in life. With Kayla hopping on the man hunt train and seaching for what she considers to be "Mr. Right" she winds up meeting and hooking up with just about every diffrent type of player and hustler possible in her area code. She meets a man who stalks her and calls her at all hours of the night leaving numerous messages on her voicemail. She also meets a man who is a two-timing player with more then his share of girlfriends and wants to make Kayla number 2. But one man changes her views on herself and love in all sorts of crazy and new directions. Giving her opinion and insight on every situation encountered, Kayla proves to be just what she is: fiesty, smart, sexy and independent.
I really enjoyed this book. Looking through the eyes of Kayla taught me a lot about relationships and what to do when unexpected road blocks pop up in my life. Through comic relief and trajedy Daaimah Poole proves she is a new writer hanging with other writers twice her age and with more titles under their belts. Kayla is just like heroes who endure pain and trajedy, and in the end always prove themselves better then before.

Summary: YO YO LOVE=Kayla
Review: Boy, did the author pick the right title for this book. Kayla sure did have alot me in and out of her life. She kept picking the wrong guys. In my opinion she was catching feelins way too early for them. I think she was in love with the idea of being loved therefore she would sleep with these guys and think they would love her. BAD CHOICE!

I was so glad when this girl finally got it together. The guy that she fell in love has a big secret and I would have never guessed it. I was so shocked! Wil, how could you?!

At times, this story moved a little too fast. It could have been slow down a little. Besides that I loved it.

I rate it a 4.8 out of 5!

Good Job Daamiah S. Poole

Summary: Not All That
Review: I was expecting much more from Ms. Poole's first book. Not to say that is was not written well, the story line just didn't grab me. I knew what was going to happen the whole time, especially as I got to the middle of the book.

I can say that the story was realistic, because most females go through a period where they much rather stay with a man that they know is not good for them and just ignore the one that is good for them, I know I did at one point, maybe that is why I knew what was going to happen in Yo Yo Love.

I procrastinated over a year whether to purchase this book when I just could of borrowed it from the library.

Summary: I am definitely in loev with this book!
Review: This was a fantastic read! I could not stop reading it. I got so caught up in the story! All the twists and turns of the story intrigued me. It's the kinda of story where you think you know what's gonna happen but something totally different happens. Each and every detail in the book matters. I loved it! I suggest everyone read it!

Summary: Frequent Laughs!
Review: It has been some time since I've read YYL and it was a borrowed copy; however, I distinctly remember cracking up several times during the reading session. Strictly entertaining, I recommended it to friends and plan to buy it to add to my collection.

Summary: Liked it, but ....
Review: I really wanted to get this book, and once I did, I didn't like it. You have this girl who goes around with these guys and eventually gets the short end of the stick, and what is the point? Why are we getting these stories about another sister getting dogged by some brother?? If we continue to put out these things, guess what, the reality won't be no better. But if we put out stories that can give us some semblance of hope at the end of the story, perhaps we can be a more enlightened people. Not to put down Ms.Poole, though I feel she has promise, I am getting tired of the same old same old.

Summary: Fun read

Summary: Why
Review: I have been reading a lot of reviews, where women keep saying she was talking about them and how much they can relate, but no one is saying how unhealthy living this kind of lifestyle is. Going from man to man, and whoever shows you some attention is not what the African American female should be about, and this book glamourizes African American women going through life disillusioned and just plain stupid over men. That's not the kind of image we should be wanting promoted about us. Don't we get enough badgering from these terrible music videos and how we are portrayed in motion pictures? Daaimah Poole's style of writing was very good, I will admit, because I read this book in one day, but I did not like the subject matter or the main character. There was no resolution in Kayla's character. I know it's REAL, but we don't have to glamourize it.
