Rating: Summary: Wonderful Beginning to a Series... Review: Read the AMAZON synopsis and book description above for book summarization. In addition to that: This is the first book of Karen Robards BANNING SISTERS SERIES. SCANDALOUS is Gabriella's story, the eldest sister. The second book is IRRESISTIBLE, story of the second sister, Claire Banning (there is no exact date out for this book yet). She was described as the most beautiful of the three sisters and most charming. She was THE big boom during her coming out season. So, I can't wait to see who she ended up falling in love with. I am assuming that the third book would be about Elizabeth or Beth as she is called by her family. She is the youngest and the most mischievous, spunky and witty. Now, that too would be a fun read. No title or date out for that book yet. Gabriella is most certainly one of my many historical favorite heroines of all times. Gabriella is the most practical and sufficient of the three sisters. She has courage, intelligence and spunk. Her character was fully developed and detailed that you just can't help but like her. Admire her. Karen Robards wrote about Gabby's inner self, her thoughts, her past, even her fears and dreams, that is why I was a bit disappointed in Nick's character development. I didn't know much about him (only few facts and figures) even in the end when confessions were told. I guess it is practical to described less of him considering his hidden or secret identity, however, I wish there was more of Nick's past, perhaps his fears and/or dreams, to make him more convincing or more real. Nick is often times away for days and I don't know where or what he does other than a quick summary of him looking for Marcus' murderer. I also prefer the hero and the heroine to spend more time together, developing their affection for each other. Getting to know each other. In this book, Karen Robards pretty much blended the suspense/mystery with romance which sadly to say, I couldn't help but want more (more romance, more of the H/H together). BUT Like I said, I understand it is necessary for Karen Robards to distant Nick's character in order for the suspense and thrill to be absorbed by the reader, that is why I rate this book a 4 stars. Perhaps in the 2nd book of this series, KR will make it up by adding a lot of updates of Nick & Gabby. The initial plot of this book is actually very intriguing. The mystery is exciting. Some humor and a lot of detailed description of the Banning sisters. I guess you can say that this book is a delightful beginning to the Banning Sisters Series. Yes, I find this book somewhat slow in the beginning. But as soon as the story picks up, you wouldn't want to put it down. I've always enjoy KR's book and this is not an exemption, I'm certainly looking forward to reading Claire and Beth's story as soon as it is out in the market.
Rating: Summary: A Fun Read Review: The "Editorial Review" above tells you the whole story, but Karen has made this a fun read. There is nothing novel in the way that she tells this story, but if you like regency romances, this is one that you will enjoy passing time with.
Rating: Summary: Irresistable is much better Review: The second one in this series is much better. However, one should read Scandalous so they have the background information on all the characters. This was a good read, but will not leave a lasting impression.
Rating: Summary: Good read Review: The story begins wonderfully. I love the three sisters - Gabby, Claire, Beth. And Claire, although being the most beautiful of the three, is refreshingly devoid of arrogance, or narcissism. Beth is adorably adolescent in her outlooks and mannerisms. And Gabby, the eldest sister, is very responsible, loving, protective of her sisters, and caring. I find it rather hard to REALLY like Nick Devane, the impostor, who posed as their dead brother Marcus, in order to find his (Marcus's) killer. He has a rather callous attitude. However, the story is very good, suspenseful. Great story writing. Great unfolding of scenes and plots. A very good and thorough job. I'm eagerly looking forward to more of Karen Robards.
Rating: Summary: If it was 500 pages, I'd have read it in one night Review: This book was so good and fast paced, I just wanted to know what was happening page after page. I thought Wickham to be sexy, funny, and the banter between the two fun and romantic. Like the other reviewers above me, I think that it was cut too short. An awesome read that deserved the time to come to a complete conclusion. Wouldn't it have been neat to see Gabby go to Ceylon, or see Nick reintroduced as Gabby's spouse to the gaping jaws of the London Ton? I laugh just thinking of what he would say to those bitter baggages!
Really wish it could have been longer... publishers, take note!
Rating: Summary: Charming, entertaining, and intrigue! What more can I ask! Review: This is certainly not your regular regency plot, so I can understand some of the less positive reviews. Brother and sister love would be pretty off-putting; however, the main characters did not think for a minute that they were really brother and sister. The unfortunate catch is that the general public did think they were siblings, and the author doesn't really tie up the public confusion at the end of the novel. That said, the heroine is a warm and decent woman (not girl!) that you'll find yourself rooting for from the beginning. Her cleverness may save her family from disaster, but it may create even greater troubles down the line. I do so like characters who are willing to take risks after reading too many romances where the main pair are in love for most of the novel, but too frightened to admit it. Hurray for brave, strong-willed heroines! Our hero, on the other hand, is both sumptious and fun. I would certainly like to find him bedded down next to my room.

Rating: Summary: The worst ever Review: This is my 4th Karen Robard's book and they go down hill all the way.I hated the sex scenes, which were so insipid. No female could possibly respond in the way that Gabby, a Victorian Lady, did. It was gagging.
Rating: Summary: A Good One! Review: This is my first time submitting a review, however, each time I read a book, I silently rate it and critique it. "Scandalous" is a definite five stars. Well written, and maintains the story until the last page (unlike many romance novels).
Rating: Summary: Definitely Not a Keeper Review: This one was a real disappointment for Karen Robards fans. The Plot was really, really draggy ... not romantic or even lightly sensual in any way.
