Rating: Summary: This was a good story, but it could have been better. Review: I have read every one of Jude Deveroux's books and I love them all. This one had a good story, but the ending moved way too quickly. I loved the ghosts and angels. But what was with her having a brother on pg 45 (when they were going to ride the ferris wheel) and then she had "no siblings" on pg 100? I still loved it though!
Rating: Summary: Where's the editor? Review: My question isn't, "What's happened to Ms. Deveraux?", it's "What's happened to her editor?" She's one of my all-time favorite authors, but reading her last few books has been like watching a train wreck you were powerless to prevent. The ideas are there; the stories have the potential for magic, but apparently her publisher has decided that once you reach a certain level of success, you no longer need editing. (Judith McNaught seems to be suffering from the same syndrome.) Please editors, help restore the voices of these once fabulous authors!
Rating: Summary: i really like this book Review: i don't know why everyone is saying this book is not good, but i sure did enjoy this. I mean Micheal is just the type of angel i wouldn't mind have right? He's love for Emily was so great he rather live a happy life then being an angel. If i had an angel like Micheal, i wouldn't mind... I recommand this this book who believes in a hansome, sexy, and great sense of humor angel.
Rating: Summary: i don't know what everyone's complaining about... Review: i read this book and i couldn't put it down until i knew how these two were going to solve the impossible dilema of the hero being an angel and the heroine being a mortal... then again i love all of jude's books and can't find anything wrong with any of them... so maybe i'm biased... keep writing the amazing books Ms. Deveraux!!!
Rating: Summary: Good book, but not nearly as involving as the Velvet series. Review: I enjoyed this book for light reading. It doesn't have the emotional involvement that the series books have. My favorite of Ms. Deveraux's is the family stories of the Taggarts and the Montgomerys I feel like I have been included in something special when I read those stories and I have read them over and over for the last 10 years. I'm not crazy about the time line stories but she does bring them together at the end. A little note for Jude, I hope you read my comments, you are my favorite author, and my husband even knows it and buys your books for me. I may be a little disappointed in some of your books, but I have almost all of them in hardback and I will always have them and will always keep coming back for more. Remember, you can't please everyone all the time, and if you aren't enjoying the characters and the story then we probably won't either. P.S How about a series of say five sisters who can't get along with each other in the beginning.
Rating: Summary: Undeserving of 1 star! Review: I don't even know why I am bothering to write a review about this pathetic attempt at a book, probably in order to warn those who have not read it to PLEASE not waste your time! This book sounds like it is written by someone in the sixth grade. I have read some books that have not been too exciting, but this one is the worst ever! I have however read some of the other reviews about Devereaux's books, and MIGHT give the books on the Montgomerys a try. There seems to be a concensus that those are good.
Rating: Summary: Not the best, but it's still good... Review: I really do love Deveraux's work, like "Knight in Shining Armor", and I do agree that this isn't one of her best works, but I really enjoyed reading it, I think that she should get credit for this book.
Rating: Summary: What's been happening with you Ms. Deveraux? Review: I don't know what's going on here. Jude Deveraux wrote so many good books, but this one was disapointing. I didn't laugh or cry.
Rating: Summary: You may lose your faith in angels if you read this garbage Review: I need to point out what a theological mess this book is as well. It's a slapdash brew of New Age spirituality and pagan mythology that completely ignores the proud Judeo-Christian tradition of angels. Ms. Deveraux whips together reincarnation and past lives with ghosts and fairies and wood sprites then glosses it with angels. By the time you finish reading this caricature, you may find yourself doubting the existence of angels. And that would be terrible because angels really do exist and are fabulous. To paraphrase the popular cliche, in this case truth is more wonderful than fiction. For those who are interested in a grounding of who and what angels really are, I suggest _Angels of God, Our Guardians Dear_ by Mary Drahos. Those interested in theologically grounded real-life angel stories should check out the books by Joan Wester Anderson, all of which are very reliable. Give Ms. Deveraux's book the heave and study who angels really are. You'll be glad you did!
Rating: Summary: Not your Classic Jude Book Review: "Knight in Shining Armor" was a masterpiece; "Wishes" was a riot. This is so disappointing; even the title is trite. It was surprising that this new book was on the shelf at the library, usually Jude's books have waiting lists. But after reading it, I understand why. It has no pizazz at all.
