Rating: Summary: A good Story for those who believe Review: For one who believes in guardian angels, this story was believable. I have had a guardian angel since I can remember and I have been saved many times by my "Gabriel." Even though I don't believe in reincarnation, this aspect of the story gives it an interesting spin. I believe that most people who truly love someone have gone past the physical looks and have fallen in love with the soul. As a romatic, it would be the highest form of "love" if an angel gave up heaven to love one person for eternity. What more could a person ask for.
Rating: Summary: Still Jude!! Review: I have read some of the reviews regarding "An Angel For Emily." Obviously, some of the fans are disappointed and for various reasons. However, each reviewer has the right to express an opinion."An Angel For Emily" was a bit different, but still worth reading. I loved Michael's character. He was absolutely angelic. Emily was confused by his appearance and behavior, as well as his reasons for being there. However, Michael was what Emily needed at that time of her life. This is another book I have added to my collection. I have read all of Jude Devereaux's books and enjoyed every one. I especially enjoyed the Montgomery/Taggart stories. One of my favorite books is "A Knight in Shining Armor." It was breathtaking. Let's give a round of applause to Jude. She is still a number one writer. Keep your chin up. Best wishes, Jude, from one of your devoted fans.
Rating: Summary: Wonderfully Original And Entertaining! Review: Wow. This book was so original. An angel falling in love with a mortal, and giving up heaven for her. This book was different, and the chemistry between the characters is so explosive my pages almost singed. I love the little mystery entwined with the book, and when Emily gives up her life for Michael, I felt Michael's remorse. Great book, and Devereaux's views on what happens after death are interesting.
Rating: Summary: What a shame, I love Deveraux! Review: I began reading Romance in 1978 with Jennifer Blake. Jude Deveraux was the next writer I tried. I was hooked BECAUSE of these two Authors (plus Johanna Lindsey). For Twenty-Two and a Half years I have read EVERYTHING any of the three have written. Deveraux should never have McNaught- erized her writing. It was GREAT already. As soon as she changed her style, her books suffered. I never finished Emily's Angel. The story was good but it was the worst book I ever read! Well...NOT as BAD as Cassie Edwards! NOBODY is that BAD, "MY LOVE",. I would love to read a Deveraux book written like her early stuff. I think that she is THE best Author I ever Read (before she tried to change). McNaught,Coulter,Lindsey,Robards,Blake,Roberts, are some of my favorites. Ms. Deveraux, please, Take this as it's intended...go back to , so called "little girl sentences" , etc. I LOVE your writing and if I could would do it myself.
Rating: Summary: An Angel For Emily Review: I really enjoyed this book. I love Jude Deveraux, I have read many of her books and I was not disappointed when I read this one. I'm not sure if it was the mystery, the romance, or if I just couldn't wait to see what funny thing Michael was going to say to Emily next I just couldn't put this book down!
Rating: Summary: Too silly for words Review: It seems as though there are two Jude Deveraux's. There is one who writes really good books like "Knight in Shining Armor" and one who writes real nonsense like "An Angel for Emily". Let us hope that the one who writes well returns soon, for this book is just plain silly. It has no continuity. Sentences don't make sense and there is no follow through of ideas. I have enjoyed many of Deveraux's books-but this is not one of them.
Rating: Summary: Charming Review: I loved this book. The story behind it was unique, and it's not your run of the mill romance. The twists and turns through out the story will keep you reading. The story is best described as a ficticious mystery with a romantic twist.
Rating: Summary: Not worth 1 star Review: Don't waste your time and money. The humor was not funny, the editing was poor, and the fantasy didn't work. I started skimming the book about halfway through and wanted to trash it.
Rating: Summary: The Story is Great! Review: I love this story. Such a fresh new idea. I haven't read a novel by Ms. Deveraux that I didn't love! Her books make you fall in love with the hero. I wish I had a guardian angle like Michael. Everyone who loves Romance, would enjoy this one.
Rating: Summary: first time , now hooked on Jude deveraux Review: This was my first book by Jude Deveraux and I was so impressed, I wish to read more of her books. Not only did it have romance, but also a varied and interesting story line.
