Summary: A great read
Review: I couldn`t put it down. This story has all the elements for a great read

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Worth it in the end
Review: I had a little trouble getting into this book, but once I did, it was wel worth it. I think since I read this book first, before her others, I was a little lost on the references to the other characters from her other books. That made it a little hard to get into the plot, but about 1/3 way through, I enjoyed it immensely, even laughed out loud! So, if you buy this book, make sure you read some previous works first, it'll make it much easier to get into it quicker.

Summary: Fantastic
Review: I have only once before in my life picked up a romance novel before this one (I was 14 and my gramma took it away from me) becauase I was disillusioned with the whole "romance novel" theory. But, when I picked up this book one boring afternoon at work, I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!! It is one of the most amazingly fantastic works of literature I have ever read. In, fact it is the reason I am here on this site - looking for others like it. It has broadened my horizons and shown me that while books are categorized and stereotyped, this is one that transcends the norm!!! I SUGGEST EVERYONE READ THIS BOOK!!!!

Summary: Romance with Humor - What a potent combination!
Review: I loved this book. The plot itself was good, but the interaction between the hero and heroine was magnificent, and very funny! A Dance Through Time introduces some of the ideas in the book, and I would recommend reading that one first. But, this book can certainly stand on its own. (I read this book first, and I wasn't lost. But reading the first book gives you more insight into the story.) A very good book I would recommend.

Summary: This was an excellent time travel romance.
Review: I really enjoyed this book. This was the first time I have read Lynn Kurland's work and I was so impressed, that I have ordered her latest novel. It has all of the ingredients of the perfect romance story; the characters are real and their interaction with each other is wonderful. If you liked "A Knight In Shining Armor" by Jude Devaraux, you will most definitely enjoy this book!

Summary: Exciting, funny and sensual without sleaze.
Review: I usually stay away from romance novels told from the male point of view, but this was delightfully funny; I really enjoyed being inside Alex's head throughout these adventures. I enjoyed Meg's strength and found the glimpses into her vulnerability touching; this was not the usual story of a knight in shining armour come to rescue the poor helpless modern woman, but a self-sufficient woman who would be an equal partner for Alex in any century. I did feel a bit left out, not having read the Jamie/Elizabeth story first; the science/magic of time travel was not sufficiently explained for my taste and sense of logic. But overall I really found it a great read - I'll never think of Godiva chocolate in the same way!

Summary: Not Her Best Effort
Review: I was eager to read this book, having just read Kurland's fantastic "This Is All I Ask." What a disappointment! After the first few chapters, I could not understand half the plot or nearly all of the hero's motivations--why wouldn't he fight for his lady? What terrible thing happened in his previous trip through time, that affected his behavior so thoroughly??? We aren't told, so I dutifully bought "A Dance Through Time" to find out. I really, really detest it when a book cannot stand on it's own! Some authors write "series" books that require you to read the other books in the series to find out about the chacters' pasts, motivations, etc. (Stella Cameron does this, too) and this book certainly falls into that category. Not only does Alexander need explanation, but the grand arrival of Alexander's sister and brother-in-law doesn't pack nearly the punch unless you've just read the first book. This is more like a "Part 2" of "A Dance..." and even then you never really find out, clearly, what Alexander's motivations are. There also isn't enough buildup and explanation of Margaret's flight back to her own time--it reads like a manufactured conflict, because there isn't enough background information. I like Kurland's use of humor, although sometimes she uses slapstick or a flippant tone that distances us from the story. Having read "This Is All I Ask," I know what she can do in terms of characterizations, and the characters in this book aren't nearly so well drawn. Overall, I found this a disappointment.

Summary: disappointed
Review: I was very turned off by this book. The dialogue was so flat - just like a TV sit com. There was hardly any description that was compelling. The relationship was flat so there was not even a spark of romance in it. The only redeeming thing was the story line. At least it kept me reading. I love the subject matter and the story, too bad it was ruined by the writing style.
