Summary: waiting in vain
Review: Waiting in Vain is an excellent book. I give it 5 thumbs up! It gives an interesting look at the way black americans and jamaicans view the world. I actually found myself envying the Fire viewpoint in life because only the simple things mattered to him. I'm sure many women identified with Slyvia. Colin book spoke with brutal honesty about why women put up with men who treat them bad just because the man has status and we feel we can't do better. It also speaks to those of us who are afraid to take risk in life. I felt sorry for Magaret and Ian. Two people who let the past get in the way of them committing to each other. Great book. Get a box of tissue because you will need it at the end.

Summary: LITERARY MASTERPIECE!
Review: Colin Channer writes to expose the rawness of your nerve endings in order to allow you to experience the ultimate romance sensations, in their most exquisite forms.

Translation:

Hardcore romance readers this book is all that and you NEED to get your own personal copy ASAP!

Colin Channer should be named romance writer of the year. Bump that. Romance writer of the decade is more like it!

Fire, our co-protagonist, is the man of the hour and when you read page 97-102, you'll know why. Shoot! I knew I was reading the works of a master before I got to page 5. Greatness doesn't take long to recognize and Mr. Channer is an island unto himself.

Buy the book and experience him for yourself! I'll welcome your comments.

Summary: A 100% page turner
Review: 'Waiting in Vain' has it all. Great detail, well written, realistic, and is overall a page turner. The characters are full of life and some have "issues", of which we've all experienced something similar if not the exact same thing. However, the book is just marvelous as it keeps the reader interested in wanting to know what will happen next. 'Waiting in Vain' has the same style and context as 'The Great Gatsby'. Both have a variety of characters interacting with great detail of surroundings, which allows the reader's imagination to see just exactly where the characters are. Lovely reading for all interested in great Literature.

Summary: The Reflection Of Hope
Review: Waiting In Vain is a book I have waited for, for so long! Colin Channer is on his way to major success. The words he use are breathtaking, he completely knocks me off my feet. One of my favorite passages comes from page 239 (For as I sit here miles away from you, you occupy my soul). I just finished my first children story and I hope I'm just as successful as Mr. Channer, he's a true writer.

Summary: DIFFERENT KIND OF READING EXPERIENCE
Review: Fire was an incredible character. I was truly turned on by his intelligence, passion, humbleness and sense of respect for women. I felt that this novel was more about the quality of a man and less about his relationships with women. That which really pulled at my heart strings was his relationship with Ian. I saw this as the major relationship in the novel, with his relationship with Sylvia and Blanche being secondary. The interaction between these two friends who grew up together and had their own issues with each other was a compelling part of the novel.

I also enjoyed the fact that the main character was someone other than an African American. The Jamaica history, ritual and culture gave the novel a very unique twist. To that extent, for those of us who associate Jamaica only with Bob Marley, it was a cultural experience as well.

Summary: Very Well Written!
Review: I loved this novel. It was absolutely great. Not only was it realistic, but also a very good love story as well. Every character could have easily been real, for there were some real-life situations portrayed in this book. The love thing between Fire and Sylvia was one that kept things flowing. Not only that, but every character's life had an interesting story to tell.. some happy, some sad, some good, some bad. I just wished Ian could have turned his life around and accepted who he was. I'm glad Fire and Sylvia finally decided to settle their differences. The book describes Jamaica so vividly, it almost seems like I was there. Great book Chaner. Anxiously waiting for your next novel!

Review: Excellent Writing. Channer had me compelled with the characters. His words were captivating. His hope in love is unexplainable. It's amazing that this book was written by a man. True love lives on. Thanks Mr. Channer.

Summary: Waiting In Vain
Review: "Waiting" was well worth the wait. It is indeed a page turner. I read the book in one sitting. Channing's ability to weave the reader in and out of the lives of his characters is superb. I felt as if I had personlly met and knew these characters. It has love, life lessons, reality, fantasy, pain, joy, expectations, fulfillment, disappointments. It has it all! I hope I won't be "waiting in vain" for the next one.
