Review: What can I say? It's brilliant. Let me warn you that this is not a "black romance" novel. Yes, it has a romantic storyline but that is just one of the plots in the book. I don't want to give it away but here's a clue; If you don't know anything about the African Diaspora outside of the United States, this is good way to begin. Enjoy...O

Summary: A treasured jewel!!!!
Review: 'Waiting in Vain' by Colin Channer, is a treasured jewel, and a MUST READ, because of the way in which the author paints, like a painter, a visual and realistic picture, that enables the reader, simultaneously, to both read and see his images. It's true beauty though, is that it holds the reader in it's powerful grip, which enables a lot of self thought and introspection.

Summary: Waiting for the Next Book
Review: Read the first chapter and there's no turning back. It was so refreshing to read Waiting in Vain. Channer went beyond writing "... A Novel"; he painted a mural with words. His canvas was my mind and at times I felt like a voyeur and other times I was at the verge of screaming because Fire's best friend was driving me crazy (read it and you'll understand.) This book is more than just a romantic tale of love at first sight. It actually encourages deep self-examination and maturity in order to have a healthy relationship of any kind.

Review: Colin, Colin, Colin...Sweetheart. Do you mind if I call you that? You have baked this one to perfection. The richness and thickness and sexiness of your story is reminiscent of authentic southern cooking...the kind that sticks to you and makes you sleep with a smile coyly dancing on your lips. Ian and Sylvia and......FIRE are wonderfully almond spiced and beautifully interwoven. I suddenly feel a certain craving for mango juice....If this is only the beginning, I will indeed stay hungry for more.

Review: Mr Channer has written an awesome story in Waiting In Vain. This book was given to me while on a trip to Jamaica. I couldn't put it down. The characters are so real. I would love to have a man like Fire in my life. I wonder what gave Mr Channer such an insight into what women want in a man. I am a Jamerican and can relate to all that is in this story. I didn't want it to end. :-) Please, please write another and real soon. Cynthia

Summary: Prepared for candy.........took home 8 course meal
Review: I put off reading this wonderful book for a long time. The quick description on its jacket cover lead me to believe "oh another one of those Black romance things" which could wait. After settling into the first chapter however, I knew I was in for a delicately powerful read. Mr. Channer uses his pen like a brush and would make any fiction writing professor proud in his showing rather telling of this story about choices in devotion, the progession of loyalties and of nameless, unseverable bonds. This novel is a well done psychological exploration of human behaviors and their causes wrapped as a "love story". If left me reviewing who I loved, why and for how long?

Review: Being a virgin to romance I was lured into this novel by my wife's recommendation for stress. As I read deeper into the book I began to relate to Fire, and fall in love with SILVIA. For those who read science fiction and have never indulged in romance novels then Waiting in Vain is the one you should read. Rahime Butcher

And does an incredible job transforming it from his laptop printed manuscript like spinning straw into gold! No wonder, I purchased 10 copies in paperback and shared them with all my friends! No doubt they all loved it!!! If you love this book...don't wait in vain when his next book is released....entitled ..Natural Mystic!!! Watch for it in the stores, go out and buy 10 copies and start a library and host him for a Natural Mystic Reading Circle. You will truly be the life of the party...the hostest of the mostest...
