Summary: Entertaining...
Review: A freshing break after erotic historicals. I gave it a 3 because although it was entertaining, its not the type of novel you 'just need to buy right now or you'll die!' It also has a few hazy spots... some of the loaded/meaningful silences in dialogue might be obvious to the author, but not to me. However, its worth the read. I prefer Johnson's contemporaries rather than the historicals.

Review: A freshing break after erotic historicals. I gave it a 3 because although it was entertaining, its not the type of novel you 'just need to buy right now or you'll die!' It also has a few hazy spots in the dialogue. For example, the reasons for a few of the meaninful silences might be obvious to the author, but weren't to me. However, its worth the read. I prefer Johnson's contemporaries rather than the historicals.

Summary: If All You Want is a Little Steam...
Review: As an avid reader of romance and erotica, I can honestly say this has to be the worst combination of genres I've ever read. Notorious for her ability to inundate readers with multiple love - no,excuse me - sex scenes, Ms. Johnson has a devoted following; however, with her latest she has taken a bend in the road. Perhaps it's her age (no I'm not an anti-age, I enjoy Dorothy Garlock who is roughly the same age) or because she has not explored the contemporary world of romance enough, I'm not sure. I am sure Ms. Johnson not only left her novel unresolved (a BIG No-No in the romance genre), but left the reader having no empathy for any of her characters. Immature and beautiful; well-endowed and mysoginistic....need I say more?
I would only recommend this novel to those who thumb through the pages looking for the "naughty" parts. There are many, and they are the only decent part of the book. I wish I'd done that, it would have saved me some time.

Summary: Two Thumbs Up!
Review: Don't listen to those who say this book isn't worth it. Of course it's nothing like our everyday lives, but really do we want to read about everyday lives? This book is full of snappy dialogue and lots of heated sex. Great, great beach read - I read it in one afternoon!

Summary: Really funny girl book
Review: I enjoyed reading Susan Johnson's new offering, Blonde Heat. At first I thought it was more of the same -- one gets tired of the same worn, tired formula from a really good writer. It's a little bit more of the same, but at the same time, the book is humorous. It's a dreamer's kind of book. Home town boys who had crushes on home town beauties get beauties. The title is sorta clichéd, and I think that that is part of the fun of the book. I'm hoping that this book signals Susan Johnson's turn away from just the basic stuff to a story with more depth. I can only hope.

Review: I thought that the book was alright. It is interesting enough to grab your attention, and hold it but not enough to be particularly memorable. It leaves you with a lot of questions about the characters and how they end up. I think that it would have been better if she had been able to develop each character seperately and with their own book and gone into the relationships between them a little more. It had her trademark fantastic love scenes-but when you barely know the characters and you don't get a chance to know them you are left feeling rather unsatisfied.

Summary: Susan Johnson can do Contemporary too!
Review: I whined months ago when I found out that SJ's next book was going to be a Contemporary since I wanted the same old SJ who wrote Historicals. I almost didn't buy the book but since I consider myself SJ's number one fan, I bought it begrudgingly and began reading it with the same attitude.

I finished the book in 36 hours with a satisfied grin and now I can't wait to see if she'll write another Contemporary. I am hoping she'll delve further into these 3 couples and their growing relationship. I wish she had added another 100 more pages or so. Heck let me be greedy, I wish she had written 3 books instead! A book for each couple.

Summary: THREE BLONDES ON THE MAKE-NO HEAT
Review: The three women had as much depth as a puddle, and were about as sultry.
The three men were hopeless apart from Billy the stud, who was too good to be true and so patient with Lily it was a wonder he didn't just chuck her in the lake for being such a witch all the time. Serena's coupling barely got a mention. all three deal with issues of jealousy and infidelity-could we not get them to have something to deal with besides sex? And Ceci taking her man back was totally unbelievable ater what the schmo does This is like three very lame short stories rolled into one, and I have read a lot better. The only redeeming part of the book is the scenery. I get no sense of commitment or a happy ever after for any of them, and Lily getting drunk and offensive for most of the book is really a turn off. If the only time she can deal with her feelings is when full of wine, beer, margaritas or champagne, Billy should dump her.

Review: This book was terrible! I enjoy a good romance mixed with a lot of passion, but this book failed on both accounts. There is no real plot to the story and someone must have poured cold water on the hot passion because it was sex, that read more like a how to guide, then a story. I tried finishing this book for 3 months, but could not do it. I had heard a lot of good things about Ms. Johnson's writing, but I am afraid to read the other books that I have of her's because of this book. If you must read this book do yourself the favor of finding it for a dollar or less, other wise you are wasting your money.

Review: This is the first book of Susan Johnsons that I have read and I loved it. I am looking forward to reading more. It is a dreamers book and that's what I like to read.
