Summary: Yawn........
Review: Along with its companion novel, An Unforgettable Rogue, this novel was sluggish, the characters did not engage and the story was thinly plotted. I found it difficult to keep my attention on it; there was that old feeling of a modern characters in a sometimes saccharine, Americanized story wrapped up in long dresses and neckcloths. Unfortunately, others have already done series about rogues and the like (and done them much better) and this one came across like a very faint copy. Undeniably forgettable, sadly.

Summary: A Regency that sparkles with life!
Review: An Undeniable Rogue by Annette Blair is a delightful read. The characters are engaging, the dialogue is sparkling and sexy by turns. Annette Blair has raised the bar for the Historical Regency. The Hero, Gideon is a Duke (of course) in need of reformation. The beginning, when he finds his intended bride heavy with child and operating a homeless shelter out of his London town house is hilarious. I really respect a man who is willing to wait to see what happens next! I love the motley group of people Sabrina collects and the way they all become a family.
I read this book in one night! I just couldn't put it down and I can't wait for the next book by Annette Blair. I enjoy the way she puts together a sentence, and a plot, and you will too. I heartily reccommend an Undeniable Rogue and suggest that you preorder an Unforgettable Rogue as well!

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST!!!!
Review: AN UNDENIABLE ROGUE is one of the best romances I've ever read! I finished it in a day, totally glued to the pages! It is the story of two people who need to learn to trust, and love. A very pregnant Sabrina Whitcomb is widowed and penniless, running and hiding from someone evil and cruel, from a past she is ashamed of. As her dear friend and brother-in-law lays dying at the Battle of Waterloo, he makes one final request, and asks his friend, Gideon St. Goddard, Duke of Stanthorpe, to pledge to marry and protect her. Gideon returns to London to wed his unkown bride-to-be, not knowing what to expect. Certainly not such a ravishing beauty, not a woman due to deliver a babe in 2 weeks, and especially not such an innocent, in spite of her delicate condition.

What did I love about the story? Everything! The list can go on and on. Mainly I loved the love story, the development of a relationship based on trust and caring that blossoms into true love. I adored the hero ... Gideon was kind and tender, understanding and at times surly, complimentary and sensitive, responsible and generous, sexy and... and he had such a wit about him, from what he thought to what he said, that I found myself smiling or chuckling at almost every page, especially in the first half of the book during his most frustrating moments with his new bride. He was a dream hero, and the way he fell in love with Sabrina's new babe was so heartwarming as to bring tears to the eye! The birthing scene was amazing ... really so well written, and Gideon came through to save the day!

Sabrina had a cruel past with men, and she really needed to learn to trust in order to let go of her fears for herself and her family, and to allow herself to lose the control she held onto like a lifeline,  and thus lose her heart to Gideon. She had many secrets she was keeping from Gideon, amongst them, two particularly important ones which he discovers on his own. I won't reveal any spoilers because the discovery is too much fun for the reader ... but once again, Gideon came through like a knight in shining armor and made me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside! The secondary characters in the story add dimension and humor, as well as allowing the hero and heroine to discover more about themselves and each other through their interaction with them.

The sexual tension between Gideon and Sabrina was palpable. There was such tenderness in the intimate scenes, that again, Gideon stood out as an exceptional and extremely sensitive man. Annette writes some scenes that, IMO, were more intimate in certain ways than many of the steamiest scenes I've ever read in romance. They were intimate in a "soul-touching" way. To me, the way Gideon worshipped Sabrina's very ripe and pregnant body, finding her beautiful and Goddess-like was extremely intimate. The way he liked just sleeping with her naked in his arms, their bodies intertwined, before ever having consummated their marriage, that was very intimate to me. And his repeated joy in watching the infant suckling at her breast was also extremely intimate ... not in a sexual way, but in an a bonding sort of way. A private and personal way. And yes, in a worshipping way. (...) I believe many women who have nursed their babies as I did, and also had a close bond with their husbands, might really understand and connect very well with that scene, that extremely intimate moment ... smile knowingly, and find it very touching. It is a scenario not many authors will touch upon ... as some readers who have never been there might think "Ewww!" But I could connect with that, and thought it was so beautiful!

Beyond the outstanding love story, there was also danger lurking. Evil in Sabrina's past that threatens to destroy all the security and hope and love she has found in the arms of Gideon. One that will destroy her family and her new home. I found myself on the edge of my seat toward the conclusion of the book, while I applauded the ending!

I can't wait to start the sequel, AN UNFORGETTABLE ROGUE!"

Summary: One of the BEST Regency Romance Writers Around!
Review: Annette Blair is one the most talented Regency romance writers on the market today. AN UNDENIABLE ROGUE is a quick, easy read with a fast-paced plot that kept me on my toes. As a hero, Giddeon St. Goddard is a kind-hearted rogue who turns a group of misfits into a family. The ending satisfies and lingers long after the book is closed, with a surprise thrown in for good measure. AN UNDENIABLE ROUGE entertains with laughter, tears and love and celebrates of the importance of family.

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST!!!!
Review: Gideon St. Goddard, Duke of Stanthorpe having survived the war against Napoleon had come home to his own personal Waterloo. A dying comrade in arms on the battlefield had extracted from Gideon a promise to return home and marry his sister and save her from being tossed out onto the streets. Gideon could not refuse a dying man's last request, so here he was, ready to bite the bullet, no matter how homely the girl must be! But what he did NOT expect, was to find the most beautiful woman he had ever beheld, throwing flour in his face, and in such an advanced stage of pregnancy. Nor was he prepared to realize that his house had been turned into a home for the homeless! And, more surprising than ever, did this rogue ever think that he might actually enjoy being there and married!

Throughout this story, the readers will find themselves totally charmed with the romance as Sabrina slowly begins to trust, and Gideon realizes how deeply he has fallen in love with Sabrina. And, if this sterling romantic love story is not enough, the vividly superb cast of secondary characters, from the homeless misfits, to the children, and the miscellaneous pets will have you chuckling as well as emitting sighs of joy. With mastery of the written word you will also be exposed to a malevolent evil that will spark your imagination into turning the pages as fast as you can to solve the mystery of who is being watched, why and what will happen to spoil what has so soon become a loving family.

This book is undeniably splendid! An absolute total read that is charming, suspenseful and thoroughly entertaining and an author I most definitely plan to add to my `must buy' list! Lovers of this regency historic romance genre should make all haste to locate a copy of this out of print and hard to find novel, which I can and do most heartily recommend!

Summary: Book 1 of 3
Review: Gideon St. Goddard, Duke of Stanthorpe, had held his best friend, Hawksworth, on the battlefield of Waterloo as he died. Gideon promised to wed his friend's sister, Sabrina, and take care of her. But Gideon had not understood that Sabrina Whitcomb was the sister-in-law. Sabrina was also a widow, had twin (four year old) boys, and was VERY pregnant! Even so, Gideon lost his heart to them all upon sight.

Gideon quickly found out what a lovely woman Bree was, inside and out. Her deceased husband had been cruel to her and the boys. She married to provide for her children ... and hide from an evil man that still searched for her. Gideon knew it would take a lot of patience to earn the trust of the mother and the twins. But earn it he would!

***** AWESOME! To call this story incredible would be an understatement. I read the book twice. This is a hero worth dreaming about! Not the average hero in a book that the heroine had to win over. Not the average heroine that had one or two minor problems that seem to get out of proportion. Nope, the roles have been reversed! The heroine has several secrets and most are huge, and dangerous. The hero has to win the heroine and the twins over. I enjoyed this tale thoroughly! Highly recommended reading to all! Do not miss this title.

On a side note, Annette Blair if you read this, know that you have a new fan in me! Write faster! *****

Summary: Pregnancy Feitsh...
Review: I always enjoy when a new regency writer comes along to hopefully breath some new life into a arena grown cold and boring. This story had the potential to be much better. Our hero, and he is, is the Duke of Stanthorpe, Gideon. He promised his dying friend, Hawksworth, that he would marry his "sister" as she was now without protection and would be forced to live on the streets. Fulfilling his friend's dying wish became a call to honor for Gideon. He goes home and finds the "sister", Sabrina, living in his townhome and about 2 weeks from delivery of a baby. They meet, mis-meet, and marry. She married for security and money. The story starts with her lies, and the lying contines for the entire story. Trust has to be earned, yes, but the never ending lies by Sabrina are too much. Why in the world would he trust her? Gideon was led to believe that she was Hawk's sister. He finds her to be with child, finds out she is not Hawks sister and she tells him she will not consumate the marriage and he still marries her? Oh, yes, you see - he is so taken by lust when he meets her he does not care... The author goes overboard on depiciting lust for her from him... And why in the world whould he marry her? He is a Duke for goodness sake. He would need an heir. His smirks that he would overcome her dislike of the marriage act and is a bit childish in his belief. He does not know her to really think that. Would any Duke really risk marrying an unknown, pregnant, lying woman who has no intention of giving him an heir? Also, why would she, already a Mom 2 times over, not be willing to sleep with him for the comfort of money/shelter that he would provide? While she had ample reasons to not like it, in order to protect her children from the possible future threat of an annulment of her marriage due to not consumating the marriage, seems crazy. She says she would do anything for her children yet would not secure her place as his legal wife in every sense of the world goes too far. I see that the author has a series in mind and I am guessing that Hawk is the hero in her next story due in October. I am already disappointed. She has made him hideous in his battle injuries. His once beautiful face is no longer. Why such extremes for a good man? I think I might have to skip that one.
