Summary: Love, romance and a murder
Review: This book deals with Lonnie who had just graduated from college with Master degree and was working as a temp in a law firm. It was one of those monotonous job where your boss can't even remember your name. The firm had also interesting characters. It was in the same building that Lonnie met up with an old college friend, Dominic. Sparks flew but Lonnie was fighting to control her desire for him as she was semi-attached to Terry, a struggling comedian. At the same time, Lonnie was also dealing with her mother who felt that Lonnie should lose some weight, her sister moving in and accidentally discover the dead body of one of the partners in her law firm. She was also working with a local cop to snoop around the office and to observe her colleagues as the cops believed that the partner was murdered.

I really like this book because it doesn't just deal with romance which I find is too boring and predictable. Jill Winters did a good job in interwining the romance between Lonnie and Dominic with the murder mystery. Another thing that is good about this book is that it is not slow-paced unlike other books and the characters are very likeable. There are also funny moments in the book especially with Lonnie's mother and her relationship with Dominic. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a relaxing yet enjoyable book.

Summary: It¿s a love story a mystery and extremely funny!
Review: This book was so darn cute! Packed with down to earth characters that you have probably met sometime in your life. The story begins with
Lonnie Kelly, working as a temp at a law firm while awaiting a teaching position she hopes to have. At first you see her in everyday situation, weekly work meetings, a mother that cares too much, a demanding boss, a crush on the guy that works downstairs. Her life changes when her boss is murder. Then the mystery begins. It is a real page turner and an excellent book to loose yourself in!!! It's a love story a mystery and extremely funny! I can't say enough good things about this book I highly recommend it.

Summary: 4.5 stars, even!
Review: This is a great romance novel. Unlike some ppl who like the erotica, I tend to skip over the sex parts - and this book rather gratuitous, but I thought this was a great novel, esp for those 20 somethings who want to read something from an American perspective - sick of Bridget Jones rip-offs...

I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone... The mystery subplot doesn't do much for the romantic entanglements, but everyone should want a bf like the guy she ends up with!

Summary: Could not hold my attention.
Review: Those looking for an escapist novel to pass the time will want to pick up this novel. In it, Lonnie Kelley finds her life at multiple crossroads. Attempting to pay off her student loans, she is working as a temp. assistant to the aptly named Beauregard Twit at the law firm of Twit and Bell. She is also torn between her established romance with long distance love Terry and very close and very tempting Dominick. Office polictics takes a deadly turn over the holidays when the Bell half of the firm winds up dead at the Christmas party. Now, Lonnie finds herself trying to solve the mystery before the killer strikes again in additon to all her other concerns.

* While this book does fall into the current popular format, it never really held my interest. There was too little romance, too little mystery, and too much angst; leaving me to feel like it really went nowhere. However, it is hoped that perhaps there will be a sequel pertaining to Lonnie's younger sister, who was a very interesting character. *

Summary: HOT!
Review: Wonderful romance - very steamy! I loved the mystery subplot as well. The mystery kept me guessing (which is a good sign for me) and the romance kept me fanning myself. I mean that figuratively of course but that's also a good sign!
Lonnie's and Dominick's lustful thoughts about each other - that they both keep interspersing with their actual dialouge are VERY titillating indeed. You just can't wait for this pair to finally get it together.
The mystery part was wrapped up a little too neatly and a few questions were left unanswered, but overall it kept me turning the pages to find out more.
I was skeptical about this one in the store, but I thought I'd give it a chance and am glad I did!
