Rating: Summary: Contemporary romance at its best! Review: Plum Girl by Jill Winters is a smart, funny, sexy contemporary romance with lovable characters. I didn't want this one to end. Highly recommend.
Rating: Summary: Sexy, sassy, and smart Review: Plum Girl is a great read! Witty dialogue, believable emotional development between Lonnie and Dominick, and a mystery death at an office party combine to make this debut novel special. The office interplay is especially hilarious. I'm already looking forward to the next Jill Winters offering.
Rating: Summary: loved it Review: Plum Girl is a really original, funny book. Great read!
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: Plum Girl is hysterical! I really loved this book. It is now one of my favorite romantic comedies. It reminded me of some of Jane Heller's works with its sharp but lighthearted sarcasm. This was a really terrific book. I highly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: A terrific fun, light read! Review: Plum Girl starts out as just another story about a girl who hates her job. She lives in a studio apartment with her sister. She's a temp at a law firm with the world's most annoying boss. Then it builds to include a hot new romance and a intra-office mystery at the law firm that begins with one of the head honchos being murdered at the company holiday party. This book really has a little of everything. There's lots of comedy, a murder mystery, a little romance, a little sex. Nothing is too over the top. I never felt like I was reading a romance novel or dry crime fiction. It reminded me a little of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich (I'm thinking of Four to Score, in particular). Lots of fun and unexpected twists. I gave the book four stars instead of five because of the ending. It left me with a few unanswered questions. I got the feeling that the author didn't quite know how to wrap up the book. I was a bit disappointed. But, overall, I thought the book was fantastic. I definitely plan to check out future books by Jill Winters.
Rating: Summary: Very smart & entertaining contemp romance Review: PLUM GIRL was a very witty, well-paced read. I thought the characterization was wonderful, and the mystery and romance smoothly balanced. I could tell right away the author was educated--the writing was very sharp and articulate. I highly recommend PLUM GIRL to those looking for top-knotch romantic comedy.
Rating: Summary: I love fun, intelligent, steamy stories... Review: Plum Girl was all of the above. I read it all in one day (the same day that I bought it) and I had a great time with it from page one. I think I honestly liked following Lonnie's relationship with Dominick (which was Hot!) just as much as I liked following her encounters with some very quirky people at the office... I am really looking forward to a second novel because I just love finding fun, intelligent, steamy stories...
Rating: Summary: amusing lighthearted romp Review: Temporary office helper Lonnie Kelley works for the Twit of the downtown Boston law firm of Twit and Bell. Her boyfriend Terry Pine is a New York actor. However, when she dreams of passionate lovemaking with a man, Lonnie thinks of Dominick Carter, a computer guru working three stories below her office. Dominick and Lonnie knew each other in college and though he was somewhat attracted to her she was dating his friend. Now he still wants Lonnie in his life and not only as email pen pals. He tries to make in roads with little success as she swings back and forth more than just a pendulum. However, his persistence begins to melt her heart, but Lonnie wonders if the IT hunk still desires her because she wants his hard drive for the rest of her life. Fans of contemporary romance novels will enjoy Jill Winters amusing lighthearted romp. The humorous story line focuses on the misadventures of Lonnie in and out of the office. Any one who uses plum daiquiri lipstick is more than just eccentric as readers will find out when they read this book. After reading PLUM GIRL, fans will want Ms. Winters to provide a sequel starring Lonnie's sister and roommate Peach. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: Exciting and Fun to Read Review: The main character is Lonnie Kelley. She has been working as a "temp" at a law office for 6 months now for a boss that can't seem to get her name right. Although she has a boyfriend, the guy downstairs, Dominick, makes her melt. Although things around the office are always unusual, they have been even more so lately. When the 2nd partner of the law firm has a heart attack in a closet at an office party, Lonnie starts an investigation of her own with Dominick and her live in sister, Peach. This book is highly romantic and an exciting mystery. Jill Winters knows her stuff when it comes to good love scenes and things that make you go "hmmm".
