Rating: Summary: A wonderful book! Review: Sandra Kitt isn't afraid to tackle big issues. BETWEEN FRIENDS is about two friends falling in love with the same man. Insightful characters, a good story, and a wonderful sense of place make this a terrific read. At the end you'll be thinking about jealousy, loyalty, and the bonds of friendship. I loved it! I've read all of Kitt's books and especially recomment THE COLOR OF LOVE and BETWEEN FRIENDS!
Rating: Summary: "Opposites attract and you never know who your friends are". Review: Sandra Kitt wrote a wonderful story about a girl named Dallas that throught traumatic times found what her father and mother found in someone out of her prospective race. Though the times are different she will suffer the same heartaches while trying to cope with society, love , friendship and life. Little does she know Alex is struggling with the simular hardships through-out his life. Between Friends is a cross between, "opposites attract" and "you never know who your friends are".
Rating: Summary: Friends come in all sizes, shapes and colors! Review: The lastest book by Sandra Kitt is about two friends of different ethic backgrounds, from the same neighborhood. The book is entertaining and easy to read. The story line will hold the interest of the reader. It has the right amounts of conflict, plot twist and a good dose of romance for Dallas, Valerie, Alex and Russ. I did not want the story to end; because, love knows no color line. Life would be more enjoyable if we could accept people as human beings, rather than scone each other if we choose to date, mate and marry across racial and ethic lines.I am looking forward to reading Sandra Kitt's next novel. She has not disappointed me yet. I have read seven of her novels and looking forward to reading Homecoming.
Rating: Summary: Not as gripping as the other books.... Review: This book was good, but it lack something for me and it didn't grip me the way "The Color of Love" did. I felt that in this book Miss Kitt build you up to a point and stop you dead in your tracks with whatever scene you were reading about! I felt it lack the detail you needed to understand the characters a lot more and not leaving you "assuming" about what their all about. In all it is a good book but it could have been a lot better, but I still enjoy what she writes about.
Rating: Summary: Boring Review: This book was not interesting at all. The Prologue was better than the story itself. I may have gotten to the 7th chapter and put the book down and never picked it back up again. Definitly a weak story with weak story line.
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD, I TOLD A FRIEND SHE BOUGHT IT. Review: THIS BOOK WAS VERY EXCITING THE CHARACTERS WERE VERY WELL DEVELOPED. THIS BOOK WAS FULL OF FRIENDSHIP, LOVE, HATE, AND JEALOUSY. I LOVE HOW THE BOOK EXPLORED FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN A BLACK AND WHITE FEMALE . AND THE LOVE TRIANGLE BETWEEN THE TWO FRIENDS AND A WHITE MALE. THE ENDING WAS THE BEST BY NOT LEADING US TO BELIEVE IN A FAIRYTALE ENDING WITH SUCH A SERIOUS ISSUE.
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL!! Review: This is a great read...with wonderful characters and storyline! Sandra Kitt is a gifted storyteller who weaves unique and rich stories and characters that will stay with you for a long time.
Rating: Summary: THE FIRST AND THE BEST THAT I HAVE READ IN A LONG TIME Review: This is the first romance book that I have ever read by an african-american woman and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sandra Kitt just gave me the reason to read as many romance books by african-american women as I can. "Between Friends" was wonderfully written and full of well-developed characters. I wished that the story would not have ended but had continued for another 300 pages. I recommend this book to women of all races. It just goes to show that the story of Love is universal for all.
Rating: Summary: Blah Blah Blah Review: This was my first and last book by this author!!! I really did not like this book!! The characters where boring, the way she decided to tell everyone's secret was so mundane. There was so much blah blah blah, and when something happened there was no build up just nothing. Dallas was whiney and wimpy, and her best friend( I believe people use friend to loosely as it is and this book proves that) is so hurtful and mean why even have her in your life? There really nothing I can say good about this book. Don't believe me read it for yourself. Could be that I'm use to a different caliber of writer....Someone who can actually make you gasp when you find out who the little girls father is or even how she tells his "parents". This books makes we wonder how come I can't get my money back....
Rating: Summary: An O.K. read! Review: This was my second time reading Sandra Kitt's work. I truly enjoyed "Significant Others". "Between Friends" left a lot to be desired. Dallas and Valerie's relationship was not developed well. Although, I felt more acquainted with Dallas more so than Valerie. Oh well, I expected better, but I did finish it.
